Gorgeous tiny Church, just off the Main Street a moment from the wonderful Mercado.
Beautiful blue tiles and gold embossed carving. Takes only a moment to pop your head in, certainly worth a visit if in Loule.

Absolutely lovely with original azulejos and a tasteful gold leaf baroque altar. Well carved pulpit. Although small it is very pretty and peaceful with a barrel vaulted ceiling. The staff was exceptionally friendly and gave us valuable info of the hermitage.

On our way to the farmers’ market we noticed this church with an open door. It was a Saturday and not many people were around the entrance so we walked up and went it. It is bright and shiny and beautiful. The walls are all tiled in blue and white and the overall ambience invites reverence. It was a Saturday and we did not pay. If in Loulé this is worth a visit.

It's a tiny little church/chapel, and dates back to the 17th century, I saw it by accident as I was headed to the castle, a quick peep in showed a very beautiful interior, I was very impressed!

This is a beautiful small church that incorporates a wonderful combination of azujelo tilework with an extravagantly detailed altarpiece and trimwork above the walls. There is quite a lot of beauty in this small space devoted to the Virgin Mary.

When you look at the entrance to this small church it is tempting to just keep walking. The outer wall is plain stone with a simple double door. Once inside you will be amazed. The altar piece is gilded and the walls are intricate blue tiles common to the area. This church is very narrow and small but worth a stop inside.

Wow absolutely blown away by this quaint little chapel, did not expect this when we entered from the out side.
We wondered what everyone was stood staring at. Absolutely breathtaking the inside of this Chapel.
The artwork, design, craftsmanship in the guilding is amazing. Well worth a visit. Takes minutes to look at and right before the castle and it's free. Wow wow wow.
I love stuff like this, how they managed to build and crest stuff like this all the. Years ago with next to no proper tools or machinery in comparison to today. Yet we struggle to build decent house. Makes me laugh.
It's a must from me. 👍🏻
