This market is on every Saturday of the year, so you can go wrong... always worth a visit since you may just find the hidden gem you have been looking for all this time...

Nothing different or unusual here. No better prices that you can get in resort. Waste of time and money getting here. Good cafe across the road though.

Although large the market is repetitive. Lots of 'fake' clothing Look for the cork bags. However, some are genuinely from Portugal but most are Chinese copies.

They gypsy market should not be confused with the local market, which seems to be the case with some the pics/ reviews on here. The gypsy market is essentially a carboot sale full of fake goods... and yes two armed guards on the gate. It's situated a little out of town and to be honest NOT worth a visit unless... More

We were sold this trip as a traditional Portuguese market but really it is full of blatantly fake bags and trainers - one stallholder was supergluing a MK logo onto a bag as we stood and watched. Not worth the money we paid for the trip and a disappointment. On the other hand a short walk into the town centre... More

Got a bus from Praia da Rocha cost €45. Absolute waste of time. Nothing different or interesting. Spent €3 on a donut and churro should have went somewhere else.

If you love markets then it's a must. Not as big as I thought it would be but great stalls and bargains to be had. Remember to barter with the stall holders they like that. Definitely worth a visit

Google maps took us to the wrong market, we had not been to Loule before and didn't realise until we had parked up (free on a local road). Loads of coach tourists being dropped off - I don't know why! We decided to have a look and were immediately put off by the 2 armed policemen standing near the gates.... More
