Central and ok
Apr 2021
Nice central beach, just under the miradouro! And if you go inside a tunnel to the right side facing the sea, you will be in the Praia dos Estudantes, it is that simple. However, if you are in Lagos, then walk further and visit Dona Ana and especially Camilo beach. They are amaying.

Small, sandy beach
Feb 2020
There are many reasons that the Algarve is popular among locals and tourists alike. For one, her beach resorts are just spectacular.

Praia da Batata, which is just a hop and skip from the Fort and the lighthouse, is one example. A small, sandy area, surrounded by cliffs, is a great place to just chillax during a warm day. There is a natural rock ''arch'' that takes you to another cove.

As the beach is situated in downtown Lagos, it is very convenient to walk to the mercado, the shopping and restaurant sector, and the marina.

Lovely beach
Nov 2019
Just like all the beaches around Lagos each one has it's own character. This one is a small beach and can get crowded in the summer. But a different story in the month of November plenty of room. There is a tunnel that connects to the beach next door the estudantes. This beach i tend to use on check in and check out for a holiday as it is the nearest one to the old town. Recommended all the same for sun lovers.

A perfect day at Praia da Batata
Sep 2019
Very close to old town Lagos and lively but not crowded, for me Batata beach was the perfect place to laze about with a cocktail, gaze out at the water and forget I had any sort of pesky thing like a job. There is a great little cash only beach bar where you can get snacks and drinks. You can camp out on the sand or rent a chair with an umbrella. The beach itself is golden sand tucked into alcoves and cliffs with tunnels connecting different beaches. It was my first time in Lagos and I haven't tried any other beaches...yet...but swimming and relaxing here made me very happy.

Picturesque Beach
Sep 2019
While Lagos offers a least a dozen beaches, Batata Beach remains our favourite. It is located very close to town by the entrance to the marina. It is very walkable from most places in town, including the Lagos Marina.

The beach is not at all large but never felt crowded. The sand is golden and the actual swimming area is also sandy and not pebbles. The backdrop is beautiful. Because of the cliffs behind you, the winds never seem to pick up. This is very handy if you happen to be eating or drinking on the beach. You do not have to worry about sand in your food. You can also walk to the adjacent beaches through the rock passages.

Beach Very Clean - BUTT
Aug 2019 • Family
Very clean beach with sand and lots of shells. Coves and inlets make it unusual and sheltered with sea warm and gentle. Fairly steep steps only access. Cafe on beach very good and restaurant “Mar” at top of steps also very good for snacks and full lunch or dinner. All very clean. HOWEVER - The public approaches to these businesses were filthy with rubbish and thousands of cigarette butts. When will people entertaining this filthy habit ever learn that their addiction is somebody else’s misery. Lagos, look after your tourists as they do not wish to live in yesterday’s rubbish. Please clear it up daily.

Scenic, accessible beach
Oct 2018 • Friends
The beauty of this beach is that it is right in Lagos, and you can walk there from the shopping area or the old town. The view from the parking areas is lovely. When the tide is out you can clamber through openings in the rock cliffs to several connected beaches. In tourist season it is really packed, but still worth a quick look, even if you just stand at the road and look along the beach to Portimao. The water is normally quite cool, but bearable on a hot day, and there are also places to purchase a cold drink. There are stairs down to the beach.

Busy but closest beach to lagos
Sep 2018 • Friends
Busier than the rest of the beaches we went to but mainly Because it’s the easiest one to access from Lagos. Still beautiful just not quite as stunning as beaches a short drive away. Still went several times and you can walk through several coves to
Get further along and see some slightly less crowded beaches.
