When we first founded our company 21 years ago in Lagos, we already had transformed our first wooden ship into the well known “Via Sagres”. We started something unique; we invented the boat trip from the Doca Pesca in Lagos to the harbour of Sagres, showing off a beautiful coastline, only known to fishermen back then. This has been and still is a huge success, as we continue to be the only company doing it. Many thousands of people have seen it and many are coming back each year to visit again. In the meantime our grotto trip to Ponta da Piedade visting the incredible rock formations of Lagos also became very successful. Our business grew and we transformed yet another boat, this time a steel vessel originally from the Netherlands into our famous “Via Atlântica”. We can easily seat about 70 people on each one, which gives us a lot of flexibility, when it comes to groups. Today we also own three small boats seating about 10 people each, so that our guests have the opportunity to experience the astonishing views inside the caves.

Actual boat trips were the only company to do boat trips to Sagres. They are punctual with their departures. Lunch gets served around midday and for us it was served at the table. The barbequed chicken was delicious with second helpings and fresh crunchy salad and free flowing red wine and 2L water bottle for table of 6. Sit on... More

Really nice day out. 6 hours, lunch included, well worth the money. €49 per person. But always chance for less! Got it for €80 for two people, really friendly staff and when stuck on a boat for that long it's a great way to get chatting and meet knew people. Perhaps a little crowded for lunch, for the sake of... More

Took a 2.5 hour-ish canoe tour to the caves - about 30 mins on the boat to get to the caves, then into the 2-man canoes for a paddle round & though some of the caves. It was quite busy, so we had a few waits, but what's the rush ? - and while you're waiting, you can look at... More

Enjoyable but to many people trying to enter the grottoes at one time. Other boats plus our group of aprox twelve kayaks trying to navigate small caves resulted in people bashing into each other o a regular basis. We were told there would be time to swim but had only about 15 minutes. Not sure it was worth 25 Euro's... More

We did the 3 hour trip to the caves. Some of the staff were quite rude others were really nice. On the day we went out the sea was really choppy and the boat was being thrown all over the place. We were transferred from the big boat to the small which was very nerve wrecking because has the big... More

We took the 2 1/2 hour kayak tours and could not recommend it enough. The staff were excellent - they made sure we knew exactly what we were doing before we got in the kayaks and what to expect. Once out in the kayaks we had great fun - the tour guide was great, he showed us all the interested... More

My boyfriend and I visited Algarve last week and on the last day of our visit we tried a boat tour with Actual Boat Trips company and a 45 min kayak cruise. No words to describe how great the service and all the staff were. The kayak experience was one of the best things we have tried, the instructor was... More

We initially booked the trip because this company take you out on a lovely, big boat and then you have the choice of either kayaking around the caves or going out in the small boat, instead of kayaking straight from Lagos Castle which other members of our party had found very tiring and hard before. We booked in Lagos town... More
