Educational museum of local customs of southern Portugal with quite a few items to include eclesiásticas to include a little beautiful church inside, fisherman's hard life, a miniature port town. The only thing that was missing to make this a great stop is they do not allow fotos.

Fun little museum with an eclectic mixture of exhibits from Neolithic finds to an exhibition of modern photography We enjoyed the models of local fishing vessels and techniques although this is probably not of interest to all. The attached baroque church is fine of its kind and certainly excels in displays of gold leaf . The exhibits are labelled in... More

The Doctor certainly had a wide range of interests. It's a random collection and it's at times hard to follow, with little guidance on what you're looking at, but essentially there is no linking theme, so just take each room/ collection on its own merits. The attached church is garish and whilst I appreciate its age etc, it's very OTT... More

The museum is not exceptional but it is interesting with beautiful small collection. You can learn something history of hard local life. Another part of the museum is church that is absolutely astonishing – do not miss it!

This little museum has a bit of everything. Early finds of flint tools, Roman antiques, and 19th and 20th C examples of Country Life. A nice way to pass an hour or two, and very reasonably priced.

This is crammed full of material but not well labelled. It is joined with the church as part of the museum.

Reasonable entry fee, and took about an hour or so to look round. Its not very big but had a lot of artefacts. Beautiful church, My 9 year old found it boring as there was not much to read in English, but loved the miniature exhibit of Lagos.

Staff are not the most engaging. The museum itself is small and reminiscent of small town museums visited in the UK back in the 70s. Having said that it gives you an understanding of the history and culture of the region. If you have an hour or two spare it's worth a visit.
