Don't fool yourself thinking that this is just a crowded beach surrounded by rocks. Take your time to explore the surroundings. We had just a big inflatable, but it was enough to get a bit further and check the beach from the sea. Some small caves in between the sand areas make it breathtaking. The kids could explore the caves and go on small adventures around it. Really amazing scenario

One of the most beautiful beaches I visited in the Algarve, definetly a must! However in the summer I heard it gets extremely crowded so that it is not possible to find any space to put the towel (the beach is not very long). I went in April after Portugal opened up from lockdown so it was not so full, on the contrary. It has a good location between Dona Ana and Ponta da Piedade, two oter amazing spots. The stairs are very long but it is worth it and it was not so tiring to go back up.

Gorgeous beach, down 200 steps.
We arrived at about 9.30am and got a good spot near the lifeguard hut at the back. The sun soon was on us, and we avoided being surrounded by people.
The coves and beach through the tunnel are beautiful to explore at low tide.

This beach is gorgeous, we’ve visited many times before. We arrived early and the beach was reasonably empty. As the day progressed more & more people arrived. People walking over your blanket, other peoples feet on your face, unable to walk to the sea for fear of standing on someone. No social distancing at all. We had to leave just after lunch as yet another family descended into our space. I think for small beaches like these there needs to be a limit on how many people are on it.

This is one of the most famous beaches in Algarve, that's why it is extremely massive and crowded. Also, the sand and the water is full of algae most of the times.
There are way better beaches in Algarve where you get to be alone and enjoy.

This beach is quite close to Lagos town and therefore very popular. Nice views, a lot of space. Parking close to the stairs can sometimes be difficult, but it was manageable in September. We visited on our last day in Algarve, so we did not stay long, but enjoyed it.

Easily can sit at the top of the cliff side and view all angles. Perfect view and perfect weather, can’t go wrong visiting this beach.

Tip: come to the end of the parking lot after Camilo or Cecile bar (Black Stone at can’t miss it). This is the view from there

Filthy with cigarette butts raining by thousands every day. Lots of butts crowded in this small beach

Sure, this beach is small, but the scenery is absolutely amazing! Great rock formations and warm turquoise water. There's a giant natural Pot Hole carved in the rock that you can walk into from the sea side, and there's also a small tunnel through the rock that leads to a another adjoining beach.

One of the most small beaches of the Algarve.
On the top of the cliff you overlook spectacular, colourful rocks and see some caves. The well maintained stairs counts 224 steps and is well worth to take. It leads you to beautiful scenery and some caves. A must for nature lovers!
