    Lovely scenic walk
Easy stroll on the wooden walkway overlooking the sea. Did the entire walk, probably 5 beaches total. Definitely, a highlight of Lagos. Have an Uber drop you at the lighthouse and go in either direction.

One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever visited
Initially, I had to walk for about 30 mins from Lagos train station to Praia do Camilo but as soon as I set my eyes on the beautiful view this places offers I knew the tiresome walk was worth it. A great place for photos! Not only is it great for hiking but the view is a one in a lifetime experience. Defo would recommend if you’re in the Algarve.

Morning visit to Praia Do Camilo.
Family of 4, children aged 7 & 11. Beautiful beach. Their board walk set up really is great. Number of steps down to the beach which was life guarded. Got very crowded very quickly but given the size of the beach not surprising but didn’t ruin it for us either. Free parking in a large car park a few minute walk away. This got full by 11am. Tunnel through to another cove as well which was novel. Stunning clear sea and white sand.

    Gorgeous cove, can get busy!
Beautiful little cove, it can get busy and when the tide comes in, space can be limited. Water is clear however seaweed is in the water and being the Pacific Ocean, the water is refreshingly cold, but manageable. Parking can be quite difficult, make sure you get there early and check the tide times!

Gorgeous beach, down 200 steps.
We arrived at about 9.30am and got a good spot near the lifeguard hut at the back. The sun soon was on us, and we avoided being surrounded by people.
The coves and beach through the tunnel are beautiful to explore at low tide.

This beach is gorgeous, we’ve visited many times before. We arrived early and the beach was reasonably empty. As the day progressed more & more people arrived. People walking over your blanket, other peoples feet on your face, unable to walk to the sea for fear of standing on someone. No social distancing at all. We had to leave just after lunch as yet another family descended into our space. I think for small beaches like these there needs to be a limit on how many people are on it.

One of the most beautiful beaches I visited in the Algarve, definetly a must! However in the summer I heard it gets extremely crowded so that it is not possible to find any space to put the towel (the beach is not very long). I went in April after Portugal opened up from lockdown so it was not so full, on the contrary. It has a good location between Dona Ana and Ponta da Piedade, two oter amazing spots. The stairs are very long but it is worth it and it was not so tiring to go back up.

Lots of steps down to an absolutely packed beach, where people had made little spaces between tons of stinky seaweed.
Not really worth the bother - there are tons of better beaches within 10 miles.

Save yourself the bother and go at sunset and look down on the rock formations here, don’t bother going down to the beach

We arrived in Lagos knowing little about it, and were utterly blown away.
It’s hard to believe that all this beauty was so close to the town.
This was the favourite of our beaches. Tranquil, and spectacular.

We also recommend the kayaking tours that you can organise in town.

Quite a small beach, which is reached by a lot of steps, so not suitable for people with mobility problems. Also it is advisable to check the tide times as the water comes in and covers most of the beach at high tide, so there is very little space left to sit on the sand. There is a small beach bar which stocks limited drinks which are quite expensive. However it is a lovely place to swim with clear water. Depending on wind conditions you may get a lot of seaweed drifting in.

This is one of the most famous beaches in Algarve, that's why it is extremely massive and crowded. Also, the sand and the water is full of algae most of the times.
There are way better beaches in Algarve where you get to be alone and enjoy.

An absolutely stunning bay. The scenery is amazing, it was very busy when I went so would recommend trying to get there early. A small shack on the beach for drinks. There are a large number of steps to get down to the beach but handily some benches on the way if you need a breather heading back up.

We had high expectations for this beach - as all the reviews said it was amazing. We got there and it was so crowded that it was impossible to even find a place to sit. But worse was the seeweed - there were tons and tons We couldn't get into the water without being swamped with seeweed. I could see that under different circumstances it could be quite a nice beach. My suggestion - check the seeweed situation first and go early to avoid the crowds. It is a bit out of the way to be disappointed.
