World class, potentially spoiled by dogs.
This very long, beautiful beach is world class. An amazing stretch of sand. Very quiet. It’s a pity that many of the locals insist on taking their dogs onto the beach even though there are signs at every entrance banning dogs, but sadly this rule is not upheld.

    Free Parking, beautiful beach.
Fab beach, free parking. The sea was calm and perfect for little kids (and big!) to feel totally safe and have a great time. There is no shade unless you take your own or pay for a beach cabana/parasol and loungers. It's also massive so if you want to sit away from other people you can. Lots of beautiful shells for kids to play with and the sand is good for sandcastles. All in all its a lovely place to visit.

White Sandy beach with a relaxed vibe
Beautiful beach with miles of soft sand. Sand bars make for good walking and playing games. Can be a little windy but nothing too crazy. Great for families and anyone who likes a laid back vibe- lots of parking available as well. It doesn’t have the cliffs the algarve is known for but still a must visit!

Such a beautiful beach. We have been coming here for 20 years. It’s such a shame that each time we come there are more and more dogs, with families, running all over the beach and in the sea. This is not allowed, but these families ignore the warning signs. I find this very unhygienic.

5km stretch of wide clean sandy beach backed by low sand dunes. Beautiful crystal clear sea. Take the Vai Vem ferry crossing at 1 euro each way to save walking all around the marina.

Meia Praia is very busy during the summer months but there’s always space to sit! The best time to go would be in the late afternoon, and there are lots of nice restaurants close by. It’s a very long beach which makes it ideal for a beach stroll. Best to avoid this beach during strong winds!

Beach opens to open ocean. No rocks or cliffs to obstruct walk. Dunes behind. A bracing good walk as waves were often strong. Love the Dunlins that scurried with the incoming tide for tidbits.

I hiked from Torre to Meia Praia on a warm and beautiful day. I have been to this beach a few times and love its serene appeal. The sandy beach goes for miles on both ends and I assume there’s enough space for the beach lovers in the summer.

There are a few restaurants which offer meals.

Beautiful place.

Great beach, access is a little difficult (cross train tracks) but is quiet. Numerous places to drink and eat (but not close to one another, so plan ahead for toilet breaks, etc), all friendly and well-priced. Sand is lovely but not too fine, plenty of shells for the seeker.

I couldn't imagine a better Summer destination than Lagos turned out to be. As picturesque as the small beaches that surround the city might be, I really found myself "at home" at Meia Praia beach. It is a couple of palm trees short of a fairy tale.
When my partner suggested we would try having a massage (because of the good price) I had no idea what awaited me. The masseuse's friendliness was only surpassed by her amazing skill. We were both very relaxed and at the same time full of energy afterwards, it's hard to explain the feeling but, amazing! It was a small orange tent in front of "Linda Beach Bar", I believe her name is Guida Vieira (Thank you Guida)

This is a totally unspoilt beach for families with miles of golden sand. Its great for kids especially if they like collecting shells and building sand castles. There is a small collection of restaurants however, some may close in January/February.

Do take a windbreak as it can be be windy.

Please be aware there are nudists at the Alvor end of the beach.
