The girlfriend and I rented a Kayak for half a day. We were given a water-proof barrel to keep our stuff safe and dry while out on the water. We started off at the marina and headed out onto the water. We decided to stop off at one of the first islands we passed as it was almost deserted! We stayed here for about 45 mins before seeing a massive stingray go mental on the surface beside where we were standing! So we hoped back on the kayak and headed on to the passage of water that was meant to be a short cut to the main island where everyone heads to. I think the guy at the marina told us some off info as we were paddling against the current almost the whole time, so shattered after that! Great experience though, enjoyed it thoroughly!

The people who rent out are very friendly and helpful. They give you a map and tell you where to go and not to go, although if you do decide that you wanna go where they tell you not to, you will have a realy good time. Me and a friend rented a 2 person kayak and tried to get trough the swamp like part of the coast in Algarve, realy cool experience. When we got to the deserted island, we got hit by a big wave and got a good idea ( and might have invented a new sport). We started surfing the waves with our 2 man kayak. We had fun a little bit too long tough and the sun was on its way down, and the tide had come in, so we ended up carrying the kayak for a while, and then wen we found deep enough water, paddling the rest. When we got back, there was a woman waiting for us, she thought something had happened and sent boats out to find us. She was so happy that we were back that i didn't have to pay extra for all the hours. I had an totally awesome first day, and it only cost me 30 euros!

We've done the day trip to Faro? Really great, the best part of our holiday. Luis is really nice, and made sure the trip was perfect for us. My husband can't swim so he kept us in low waters and made surewe were safe. beautiful scenery! Highly recommended.

Amazed, that's just how we were after the tour ! Everything was perfect ! The water so crystal blue, the flamingos we saw, the view of the Atlantic Ocean ! We just couldn't believe what our eyes were seeing. We're planning on doing It again, because we are sure, we'll see the Ria Formosa in a all different way. Louis & his wife were so lovely, very caring !! They served us some iced tea and fruits at the 1st stop and then for lunch they explained us how to sail with the kayak, It was so funny ! I can not wait to do it again :)

The kayak tour was the highlight of our visit to the Algave. Our whole holiday was worthwhile simply for the kayaking. We will certainly do it when we next visit. Dad is 60 and daughter is 22 and Mum is ??. We all found it exciting and well within our capabilities - even though we hadn't done anything like this before. We have already started to tell our friends how great it was. We were also fortunate enough to see a flock of wild flamingos flying grazing then flying around us. A must for any visitor to the Algave who wants something a bit different yet easy to manage. How did you hear about this site?
