We weren't sure if we wanted to go on a boat tour, but given the unsuitable weather for swimming in the ocean, we considered it.
80 euros (30€ x two adults, 20€ a child) weighed a bit, but I can say it was worth it, I would do it again!
The chosen tour lasted 1h and 15 minutes, but given the little crowding they made us take a tour calmly. Until Marinha we saw not only the famous Benagil cave but also more beautiful caves.
The boat is small so suitable for entering up to inside the caves. The season is still low in June so it was just us and another family and the caves were still very free from the many tourist boats.
Very funny both the captain and the assistant, they made jokes and jokes crying with laughter. Prepared and serious regarding explanations (the captain speaks many languages even Italian). The assistant took great pictures of us.
Especially the return was quite adrenaline because the wind picked up unexpectedly and the sea conditions changed, the boat as already mentioned was small so the sea feels everything, but the commander is capable, it was reassuring and we had fun, even the children!
You go barefoot, bring a rain jacket, you could get wet. Life jacket provided.
I do not recommend it to people who are phobic or physically debilitated.
In summary, I was afraid it would be the usual disappointing money-eating tourist experience, instead I will carry a good memory in my heart.

Originally I had my sights set on doing a kayak tour of the caves but so very glad that we went with this small boat tour. Captain Bruno and his Skipper were great, with expert maneuvering of the boat they got us safely inside multiple cave. He stopped for photo opportunities and explained (in multiple languages) all the sights. Additional fun was added by the clever names for some of the caves, derived from the rock formations. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Please note that payment was only by CASH, something not expected from this American traveler, but their are ATMs nearby.

My husband and I and our little two year old had an awesome time on this boat trip. Well organised, really interesting and exciting to go and see all of the caves. A very experienced/competent boat driver, felt very comfortable and like we were in safe hands. Also a really great guide, highlighting points of interest, funny chap, took some lovely family pics of us. All round great trip, easy morning out, definitely a highlight of the holiday. Thank you so much Nuno and Joáo

We were a group of 4 adults that did the Benagil Cave and Marinha Beach tour. The tour was just over an hour, went directly into multiple caves (staying the boat the whole time), and was a beautiful way to see the Algarve coastline. However, we were greatly disappointed by the two guides. They told inapporopriate jokes, barely taught us anything about the caves or coast, and they genuinely seemed like they didn't want to be there. At one point, the skipper-guide had her head down in her hands for at least 30 seconds while her colleague was talking. Most concerning was how the boat captain drove the boat. Although generally safe, he would try to quickly turn the boat into caves, twice almost knocking people off their seat and onto the bottom of the boat. This behavior is possibly okay if you have 20-somethings on your tour, but not adults age 60+. We felt it was unsafe, inappropriate behavior.
There are many companies that do this tour, and their boats seemed safer and we overheard their guides giving much more informational, educational talks. We would stay away from Carvoeiro Tours and go with another company instead.

Amazing trip out today to see the caves. Very well organised. Clear instructions. Life jacket provided.
At the moment face masks are required.
You do get wet feet and ankles boarding the boat.
Sun lotion advised. We did a morning trip in September and didn’t need a jacket.
The skipper is very talented taking the boat into some of the caves. We got closer than I expected. There is also information on what cave you are seeing.
Look out for the crocodile 😜
Loved it!

Both the skipper of the boat, Bruno, and Joao, the Guide are two magnificent professionals, plus two very friendly and nice people. We made the dawn walk through Algar Seco and the caves of Benagil and many others that Joao with his pleasant explanations and Bruno with his handling, really spectacular of the boat (we entered many caves in which other boats stood at the entrance and from there taught them). Excellent experience and in my review essential.

Easy to book a ticket at the kiosk by the beach but try and book in advance as I went at 9 on the morning and only a 3pm (crazy hot part of the day) or 18.45. Opted for the evening tour.
All staff smart and courteous when boarding and disembarking and the guide was good. A few jokes along the way made it a pleasant commentary on the caves. The pilot was an expert in getting through the narrow entrances to the caves.
You should note that these are fast speed boats, you will get a little wet and the way home is a bumpy fast ride

Our tour was changed to the morning, and I understand why because it was extremely windy in the afternoon. We had a calm and beautiful private tour. Our guide Joao and captain Bruno made the trip memorable. Joao explained places and was very funny, kiss kiss he would say for our pictures, and they came out great! The caves were amazing as you can see below. Bruno was awesome, and hilarious. The kayakers were going the wrong way and oblivious so Bruno would yell, jellyfish! shark! just to see their faces. Too funny! We had a great time with these two and highly recommend this tour.

We enjoyed the Benagil experience very much. We highly recommend it, Mauro is a superb tour guide with lots of useful info and he made the whole trip fun and funny! As well, the boat captain was a pro maneuvering through the challenging caves and waves.

A cave visit from the sea is a must in this region, so we took it, and visited the entire lot of caves, with Benagil as the most beautiful one. Groups are small (6-10 persons), so everybody has perfect view and understands the guide well. Price is reasonable and the trip is sufficiently long for a journey and not too long to take up half of a day.
