Visited this beach in April 2021. The restaurant was closed under renovation. I did not have any internet coverage in this beach. It is quite isolated. The Uber left me at a parking lot and then you have to walk for about 10 to 15 minutes through the nothingness. There is no road, no houses, nothing. Thankfully it was sunny so it was not so scary. The beach is beautiful but I prefered the Sao Rafael one, especially for solo travellers it is less isolated. And internet coverage is a must.

Great views. If possible also see it from above to get a real appreciation for the beautiful scenery.

The beach is one of our new favorites around Albufeira. We spent two days a week apart here during our two-week tour of the area. The beach is well-kept and very scenic. The chair/umbrella rental is also top-notch. Although topless is allowed on all beaches in Portugal, my wife called this the topless beach to the higher percentage of women sunbathing topless here compared to other beaches we're frequented since 2012 in the Algarve.

Our villa was just a short walk from this beautiful area. Just along from Praia do Castelo you can access this beach through a series of sandy paths (involving some steep sections). Its just breathtaking when you get to the beach or should I say beaches, as there are three separate areas, the farthest one with a snack bar (we did not visit as only found it on the last day). Just watch the tides for access if you walk along the beach to each section. I can't remember ever being on a beach with so many shells, just amazing. I imagine it gets busy through the summer months but being October we almost had the beach to ourselves. Its a hidden treasure for those who love to take photos too, especially at sunrise and sunset.

If you want a beach that is less crowded and more in keeping with nature than this beach is the one for you. Just outside of Albufeira you will find these beautiful beaches with their sandstone cliffs and caves. Some will have amenities on and others you will need to bring everything you need for the day. Good ideal to have beach shoes for swimming as you can find it more rocky to go off swimming from these beaches. Do go and explore the cliff tops if you have time as there is about 4 Kms you can walk.

We stayed at a hotel a short walk from the beach and took a late afternoon stroll down to the beach most days for a paddle and a drink in the bar. The sand was so soft and not burning hot even in the heat of early September. Never managed to get there at a point where the tide was low enough to walk around the rocks to the joining beach.

Loads of room to put a towel down and sunbeds available. Appears to be a few stones in the water on the edge of the sea but they may have been shells. Didn't seem to bother those that did go in.

The bar at the entrance to the beach did a lovely bowl of chips and cold glasses of Mataeus for a reasonable price and with a smile.

Great beach giving a good feeling of nature around and not urban scape.
You have to walk for a bit because there’s no parking in the beach entrance. Only for a few cars. You can also walk by the resort Hapimag on the road to Castelo Beach. It’s worth the visit because it has more nature around than other beaches in Albufeira.
