Me and my family only visited here once during our holiday. It was the nearest beach to us but although it was stunning, we found Gale and Sao Rafael had better facilities, although they were also busier.

This is an easy to reach, pittoresque lovely little beach. It is safe for swimming but I did not see a lifeguard. There is a small bar/cafeteria with an outside terrace to have a drink or an ice cream. Not too crowded when we went.

Hi - I stayed at No. 26 Baia Village. It has one bedroom but can sleep 4 people (found this through HomeAway/Owners Direct), it's a lovely complex of holiday apartments, and has a pool and a large sun terrace. It's about a 15 minute walk from Praia da Coelha beach. There are bigger apartments if needed.
I have just looked at past tripadvisor reviews for Praia da Coelha for October time, and it looks like the beach café would still be open at this time.
Hope this helps a little, and enjoy your trip!
