A lovely renaissance fountain located at the center of the Largo das Portas da Moura. It gives the square a unique look and fits well into the area. Unfortunately the many cars parked around can easily ruin the atmosphere.

The fountain is the true attraction, dating from 1556, set amid moorish and medieval architecture. Lovely.

We wanted to find this fountain as it looked and sounded very interesting and we were not disappointing....mostly built from marble.....it was just very different and not too far from the Cathedral about 5 minutes walk.

When visiting Evora at night, this fountain just sparkles - but not from any water! It is just so interesting to look at and try to figure out how it was designed and planned. Fun to find things in the cities that aren't in all...More

This renaissance fountain was build in 1556 and is quite a beautiful fountain with its iconic marble sphere . I wouldn't say its one of the major sights but is worth a look

Cute and curious fountain, suitable for photos, but not a major site. Pleasant square around it with cafes, etc.

This is good if you like walking around a town, but not a required visit. It is a neat area of town - see my photos.

Unusual shape for a time gone by. The fountain does need closer inspection and it is almost a series of water pools enclosed in Maribel with areas for sitting around and enjoying the sun.

This fountain is an unusual shape and interesting to look at as you pass by. On a very busy intersection so be careful of traffic.
