Known as the Royal Palace, it was built first as a convent in the 13th century and then transformed into a royal residence in the 14th century. It is a beautiful example of Portuguese Renaissance and was an important building during its period as being...More

This building is beautiful from the outside, but when we were there a fence was surrounding it. I don't even know if you can go in when the fence isn't there. It is in the main Evora park, which is worth visiting. The palace deserves...More

The Dom Manuel Palace is a great place to see fine Manueline architecture features both in ruins and intact. Exceptional to see many of the elements that make up this style of design that reigned in Portugal during the sixteenth century.

This public garden is located below the beautiful Church of Sao Francisco. An attractive and tranquil spot to have a picnic lunch or a rest from all the walking around that a visitor does while visiting the amazing sites of Evora.

Really lovely palace, gorgeous architecture, owned by a noble family. Collection of furniture and stuff not very memorable. Temporary expo of faux fashion art is tacky.

It's just a perfect place to spend a relaxing morning or afternoon on a nice spring day. The palace looks exotic and the garden is beautiful. The peafowl add lots of charm to the whole complex.

The palace and church were one of the only museums open on Sunday. It was nice, but not a "must see" and no senior discount...unlike most places in Portugal

There is a decent cafe and a beautiful garden onsite, which is worth checking out. The palace is lovely. There is a small ruins on the compound with several peacocks, which adds to the 'excitement' of the area. Other than these, there isnt much to...More
