We stopped by this former church to see its unique facade. The overall look was much different than other churches with the four Atlas like figures on the corners seated beneath large orbs with two hold spears. Other features that seemed unique to us were the two angels mounted in the center of the roof plus the open bell rectangular bell tower.

The adjacent convent was occupied by the Portuguese army and a sign on the door clearly informed us that no visitors were accepted.

The church was only a few minutes from the Ossuary so easily to reach while touring Evora.

We stumbled upon this little church with a unique facade in a side street, while wandering in the old city center of Evora. The architectural concept of the bell tower is also very interesting, but what makes the facade very unusual is the upper triangle with big human figures beneath the armillary spheres! Worth visiting.

You'll more than likely not be able to enter but that's okay. The facade is very beautiful and it's well within the centre of Evora.

Even though it is less particular compared with other churches of Evora, this church is worth the visit. It is simple inside and beautiful. Take into account limited opening hours, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

If you walk up the stairs to the roof, you will have a great view of what seems like most of Alentejo. You can see very far at least...

The facade is made of granite with very unusual decoration. Unfortunately it is not open to the public

This church and the building next to it once formed a convent. It was built in the 16th century and became a military barracks in 1834. Although no entry is permitted as it is now the officers' mess for the local military base, it is still worth seeing for for its imposing façade. On top of either side of the front are 4 giants, known as the Boys of Grace and are supposed to symbolise the worldwide power of the Portuguese king, João III. Next to the church front is a door, and if you are nosey, you can peep inside and see, what seems to be, the lounge in the officers' mess. It is located about 100 metres from Giraldo Square.

Beautiful building outside. Was not able to get inside, and looking through some of the windows it appeared to be office space rather than a church. Ran across it on the way to another destination and simply admired the building and took some photos!

Pretty church from outside. Inside is pretty well maintained. Good five minutes stop for walking through the streets. Pretty architecture.
