Tiers and tiers of organized farmland...for those to discourage opium farming. Will need wheels (car). It is vast.

Hire a guide for best experience or go with a professional tour company. Be prepared for many stray dogs - so sad

Discover a new Thailand!
Sep 2018 • Family
The best thing for me was the possibility to buy fruit, jams, nuts and other similar products that are difficult to find in Thailand or they are very expensive. Here, they have a reasonable price but they are available depending on the season.

Very interesting
Nov 2018 • Couples
This s place is surprisingly large and allows for a very interesting tour in the farm. Astonishing products are grown there from salads to kiwis and pears ( and bonsais!!). Entrance is cheap and a visit will take at least a couple of hours. Access is a bit far from everything but will allow for an interesting drive with superb landscapes in this remote part of Thailand. Depending on the season the attractiveness will vary though, as many fruits or vegetables grow at a specific time of the year. When we were there not many of them were harvested.

An Excellent Result of the Royal Project
Dec 2017 • Family
This place is truly well developed by the royal project. Gardens with flowers and edible plants and fruit trees scattered over a large area. The sakuras were beginning to bloom when we were there few days ago. It should be even better in January. They were just "beautiful"! There were much to see, and many sites for perfect photo taking.

Truly a royal project
Dec 2017 • Family
We spent the afternoon at the Royal project area.
The gardens here are amazing and are worth spending a few hours at.
Is is a long drive to get here on some steep and dangerous roads.
Definitely worth a visit and be sure to bring some warm clothes if here in December or January.

Very informative trip in the hills. Great flowers and plants displays
Nov 2017 • Couples
We spent two nights in the hills away from the noise and pollution of the big city. The AngKhang Royal Agricultural Station in the hills is one of the royal projects well worth a visit. The station was created by the king to test a range of cool climate crops that might be suitable for the local hill tribes to grow and generate a steady income from. You will find a range of berries and stone fruit orchards but also several very well kept glasshouses featuring a range of climatic conditions - from cacti to orchids and a lovely collection of bonsai. There are also several interesting displays of local vegetables and flowers beds. If you like walking, you might also want to visit the forestry project/areas and discover several stands of exotic tree species from the US, Canada, Japan and China - even some Australian species are trialed here. The restaurant was lovely with several tribes preparing their local specialties on site. Well worth trying. The locally grown strawberries were lovely and so were the kiwis. Apparently the cherry blossoms are impressive in spring (they last for several weeks, much longer than in Japan) and the place is also very famous for the fire flies in March. The weather was nice and cool, lots of mist though. So pack some weather gear and good walking shoes if you want to walk in the hills around the station and visit the tea plantations. The coffee grown here is arabica and we had some lovely coffee at the restaurant and the nature reserve hotel. Nice place to buy tea too. We booked a car with a driver from Chiang Mia to get there and back (around 3000 Baht each way). A good thing we did as the fog was quite thick and it would have been tricky to drive on our own. Well worth a visit and a stay.

Why not stop there for lunch
Oct 2016 • Family
I visited here for lunch, it was acceptable.
After a long drive, it is good to have a place like this to rest and relax with nice garden near by.
The price for the food also acceptable.
