We have been to 7 different escape rooms so far and this one has been the toughest to solve. The staff themselves told us that before we entered, so they sometimes give you more time, even after the 60 minutes have passed if you haven't solved it (I know more than 1 group that got extra time). When we arrived, there was a group of kids before us that didn't escape in time, so we had to wait a while for them to finish and the staff to prepare the room again. We managed to escape with a few minutes to spare, with a few hints from the gamemaster. Before we left, each of us got a fridge magnet as a gift.
We have not tried the new Unlock (outdoor escape room) yet, but we plan to.

We are three friends that just love to play in these escape room games. Already have them 30 or something like that behind us ... and we came out every time :). Well, we did get stuck in sometimes for more than an hour. The longer they let us play, the more fun we have.
This time in Slovenj Gradec we were not attracted to the place by a simple story that tries to embed the room and its puzzles in a beautiful and friendly environment, but we expected just a good and solid fun after a slightly unfortunate choice of the previous room a few weeks ago. Rightly so!!
We have posted some comments in the past about the rooms in which we have played. In the beginning of our journey, these were like marry voices of excited children and travelers. After a while we used to write something because they asked us to help other people to choose. Now we comment if the room itself invites us to do so.
In general, the easiest way is if you choose the Enigmarium (... no one paid me to write that, ... ). The rooms are thoughtful. You can spot right away that the designers are experienced. The equipment in majority of cases easily withstands all those daily repetitions. The puzzles are unambiguously solvable! Sometimes quite difficult, but in all cases you are to be blamed, if you do not think of the solution immediately. Well, it happens, does it not.
In Slovenj Gradec, the Enigmarium has an extremely balanced and interesting room. If you go inside as a group of 3 or 4 that will not be a crowd. There is a very carefully measured amount of "garbage" in the room, which try to distract you from the real puzzles. The puzzles are versatile. Imaginative. In some cases, you can also solve them in parallel. They are not just for rocket scientists and they are also not to be underestimated. They are just of the right difficulty, I would say.
We were lucky and in addition to a very good room we also came across a good game master. For a holistic experience, it is very important not to run into an overly tight or annoying person behind the counter.
We also noticed that there was really a whole bunch of puzzles in the room and most of them ended up with a lock. Most locks are classic. Key, push and buttons or number. What I do know is, it didn't bother us. We have already seen the other 30 :) types of locks in other rooms. There is enough work to be done with these as well. However, it is not that the room is completely free of magnetic locks and other gadgets. There is also some purely mechanical or physical riddles as you progress through.
In the end, we looked at each other with a laugh and concluded that the room is among the top 5 rooms we visited!
I dare you to convince me otherwise!

This was my first escape room experience ever- we took the Unlock Slovenj Gradec option, which takes place outdoors. It was a lot of fun to solve all the riddles and at the same time to learn new interesting things about Slovenj Gradec. Working together to unlock the locks was great for teambuilding. Their staff is also great, very nice and helpful.

I am a regular visitor of Slovenian escape rooms and this was my 13th visit of Enigmarium escape rooms. We were very excited for another escape in their otherwise amazing rooms but this one was frustrating. We came a little bit early and asked if we could go use the toilet. The gamemaster told us that if we really need it, we can, but otherwise this is their office and they don't want people to browse around and be nosy. I was weirded out by the answer but used the facilities anyway - still, that gave me a strange feeling. Nobody in Enigmarium escape rooms has ever expressed anything like that. Then I told the gamemaster that I have information that this room takes more time than usual and I am not bothered by not finishing in time, since there was only two of us. She did not respond. She then proceeded to tell us how there are some things in the room just for decoration and we are not supposed to touch it. She told us some stories of how some customers handled the equipment poorly and she had to repair it so we have to be very careful not to disturb anything.
We started solving the puzzles and we heard through the walls that the gamemaster was outside speaking to somebody and obviously paid no attention to us. What was weird was that we were solving one puzzle for about 10 minutes and had no help - that, to us, meant, that we probably need something else to solve it and we went away to search the room. Turns out the gamemaster wasn't even noticing us, because she later asked why the puzzle isn't solved yet and why are we not doing anything with it. She gave us a clue and we moved on. We spent more than half of the time in a certain area and when moved on, there was very little time left but we didn't mind. We started solving the puzzles and then the gamemaster started giving us clues one after another. We didn't even have time to review the area. The screen was popping up every minute with a new clue. Let me remind you - up to now, she only gave us one clue in 40 minutes, then 10 clues in 10 minutes. Towards the end she didn't let us look at the clues even for a few seconds - she solved the puzzles for us. There was at least two puzzles that I still to this moment don't have any idea where they were, how to solve them or how it relates to anything else because she showed us what to do to unlock the lock. Turns out that there were some things hidden in places that we didn't check because in the beginning she told us not to mess it up. We were appalled by her behavior because it was very obvious that she had somewhere to be and it only mattered to her that we finish on time and she can leave. Then, a cherry on top of the cake. We solve the last puzzle and she comes rushing in the room saying how we trashed the place and how it all has be tidied up now. In our experience, if you don't ˝trash the place˝ you don't find the clues that are hidden. Also, every gamegaster up till now told us that we should explore thoroughly before moving on so that we don't miss something and that is exactly what we did here as well.
We thought that maybe she had a bad day but we talked to some friends afterwards that visited the same room a few months ago. We came to the conclusion that their experience was similar and it was the same gamemaster. We are very disappointed and we are 100% sure that the escape would be good with any other gamemaster we had previously.
I hope that nobody visits this room as a first because they would not return to other rooms - or at least we wouldn't.

Amazing adventure and family teambuilding at the same time. We were kindly welcomed by the staff and were introduced to the story. They were also very helpful and friendly. Escape rooms are very creative with amazing puzzles, quests and tasks. A bit challenging, but really fun even for young children.

It's all more or less about solving puzzles, that are interesting and original, sometimes even too marked. I was missing a good story that, when present, adds that extra excitement to the experience. Overall a good all-rounder for all player levels. Again, very kind stuff there.
