My husband and I came to Galveston for our honeymoon in October 2013. We rented another charter one day and felt like all they wanted was money. We were told several times they take tips. I found a number for Freedom and booked them for the next day. It was such a better experience. You paid for the trip up front and money is never mentioned again. Jim and Phyllis were so friendly. All we had to do was reel the fish in and smile for pictures. They did everything else. Jim was great about letting us take control but being there to help if we needed it. We couldn't have had a better trip. We will be back with our kids to do this again.

We were looking for a boat that would fit 5 people. This boat fit 6. We were looking for a boat to get in out of the sun and had A/C. This boat had both. A boat with a restroom. this boat had that. The captain Jim and his deck hand Phyllis were great. They made sure we were safe at all times especially when we had the sharks in the boat. They were very friendly and really showed they wanted us to have a good time. Some drinks including water were provided. They have signs on the boat promoting a fun family friendly atmosphere which is exactly what we wanted. At all times we had 5 poles in the water. Phyllis baited all the hooks for us so all we had to do was reel them in. I have been saltwater fishing before and this was by far the best experience I have had. We caught a lot of sharks, around 15. We kept 4, that was all that would fit in his ice chest and several of the sharks were to big to keep. We caught a few catfish, and a stingray (although did not get it in the boat) he cut the line and let it go. He is a great captain and a great guide. He has been doing this for years and it shows. We felt comfortable and welcome at all times. He even cleaned the shark for us and showed us how to cook it. We have eaten it several times and still have lots of meat left for many more meals. It was a great time, great fun, great host and guide. Highly recommend them. We may never go back to Galveston again but I hope that Captain Jim and Phyllis have many more years of being at sea because they are great at what they do. We went on the 4 hour tour.
