Thank you, Flanders Battlefield Tours, for the wonderful experience. Raoul was an excellent host whose humour helped to keep the atmosphere entertaining despite the poor weather and the sombre stillness of many of the sites. He was also very attentive in detailing Canadian efforts in the area to cater to my nationality. Overall, it was a highlight of my short... More

We are descendants of a WW1 veteran who fought and survived the Flanders battlefields at Ypres. Gen and Jacques researched my grandfather and were able to take us to the exact location at which he won a Military Medal. This was simply amazing - and in addition to already exceeding expectations, they provided us with a CD containing my grandfathers... More

Phillip was our guide. He was the BEST. Our van on Sunday afternoon was full but we each got personal treatment. He made a special stop at the New Zealand monument for two of our fellow travelers who are from there. Very nice touch. Being from Texas we did not have any specific monuments we wanted to see so we... More

I remember learning a lot about World War II in high school. World War I, on the other hand, seems to be shrouded in a more distant time and more confusing place. After having toured the WW I battlefields near Ypres, we were filled with such regret for the loss of life that occurred there for what seems like no... More

We took the (afternoon) Grand Tour, hosted by Genevra, who proved to be a first rate guide, with a deep knowledge and empathy for the nature of the battlefield. We were fortunate in that on this early season excursion there were just two of us in the comfortable mini-bus and this gave us the opportunity to discuss the sites with... More

Went on this tour on a very rainy Saturday but Christine the guide made it a very enjoyable morning out. She was extremely knowledgeable and this made it very interesting. It did bring a lump to many of the throats on the visitors and we were all amazed at the number of graves - they shouldn't be forgotten

We took this tour with Genevra as our guide. It was a rainy day and the tour van was full (7 people). Gen is passionate about the history of WWI and can recount events and individual's exploits regarding those events. The time was well spent and very informative.

Genevra Charsley was the guide on our 'Standard' tour and was both knowledgeable and friendly, even altering our itinerary slightly to cope with a sudden deluge. I couldn't fault her descriptions and depth of knowledge. If you're at all interested in the terrible history of WW1, this is the company to choose.

My first time to a military cemetery and you can't help but be moved by the sheer numbers of Graves. It's a fitting reminder of why there should never be another war, but I guess we just don't learn.

My son and I did the north and south salient tours in May 2016. Personable and very knowledgeable guides- Genevra and Kirstin - evoked what it was like for soldiers on both sides. Very moving but good fun too on the minibus. Highly recommended. Chris Holme
