Yet another wonderful European market square, lined with numerous cafes, restaurants, shops, a museum or two, etc. I happened to visit on a weekend that prohibited vehicles from parking in the square, which really made the market square appear quite large. Definitely grab a drink at one of the many cafes and soak in the views of this once completely destroyed yet now completely rebuilt heart of Ypres.

One of the greatest rebuilds I have ever seen. The Market Square, including the Cloth Hall, were masterfully rebuilt. Great market on the days its offered - can't remember which days.

Beautiful square at the heart of Ypres, surrounded by typical traditional Flemish architecture lovingly rebuilt and restored after the devastation of World War 1 to resemble precisely the medieval and renaissance houses which had previously stood here. The most impressive of these and the focal point, is of course, the Cloth Hall which took 30 years to rebuild
