An excellent cemetery! A little out of town, but worth the trip
Sep 2019
A really nice, well cared for cemetery from World War 1. There are many gravestones here, a lot of which are memorializing more than one soldier. There are soldiers from Scotland, Ireland, Britain, Canada, Australia and more. This cemetery is laid out very nicely and, even though it is solemn, it was a very nice visit. I would recommend a visit here if you enjoy cemeteries.

We visited to remember my Great uncle killed in July 1917

A very peaceful place to visit and to remember the sacrifice made for us. Everything is well maintained and tidy, it's easy to use the cemetery records to find graves.

I have lots of respect for the maintaining of the cemeteries. Perfectly in line. There is a book that informs you about the soldiers lying there. You can find your relatives by alphabetical order in the book.

Remembering those who served
Aug 2019
Beautiful, peaceful, cemetery and memorial for those who made the ultimate sacrifice of their lives during WWI in this area. Directly across the street from the Hooge Crater Museum. Easy street parking available.

So well looked after like all the other cemeteries by CWGC. Always a great respect for those who have everything so we could have our today. Not as big as other around Tyne Cott is the largest commonwealth cemetery but still just as beautiful.

What a beautiful place, so tidy & neat. Very quiet & directly opposite the museum & cafe. I think there is about 5000+ graves here.

one thing Beautifully kept, grass mown to perfection, to see the headstones one after the other, makes you think, all these soldiers who died and died in honour, a person must think about them, what they witnessed, but at peace now...

Beautifully kept and looked after

It goes for every cemetery you visit in this area really, the sheer volume of gravestones and the quiet beauty of it all tinged with a high degree of sadness and the futility of it all.
Very moving and equally tragic

Struck,
By the number of multiple graves,
By the number where people had enlisted under a false identity

To see what looks like a wave of headstones is so moving. So many men lost. A real tragedy which must be remembered in the vain hope it will not happen again.
