Because of my elderly mother who cannot walk too much my husband and I rented the rickshaw tour to see more of Bruges, and the three of us had the greatest time. Our guide David was considerate, knowledgeable and gave us not only historic information, but also the most interesting facts about today‘s life in Bruges. We made stops to take photos, walk around or go inside if wanted, and our guide was also kind enough to finish the planned tour even though it took more than two hours. After the tour, he pointed us to a restaurant that we were looking for. Thanks to the electric support of his bike he was able to give explanations while pedaling for the three (four) of us. My husband who is not fluent in English could easily follow his narrative. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will gladly recommend this tour to everyone, families with kids, couples without kids or singles with walking problems, well worth the money!

The rickshaw tour was our highlight of the holiday. Pieter was fantastic and so knowledgeable and approachable. He took my parents in his rickshaw and my sister and I cycled along. We thought 2 hours may be too long, but the time whizzed by and we could have carried on for longer! Great to see the not-so-touristy parts of the city and hear some interested facts and stories. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Enjoyed a 2 hour tour with a private guide, Peter. Guide was very knowledgeable and took us to some amazing spots where we were all alone. He took some beautiful pictures near the windmills and canals. A must do if you’re in Bruges.

We happened to see a tour bike while crossing the main square and enquired and were glad we did. Luis explained they have 2 tours, 30 mins for 24 euros and 1 hour for 48 euros (price per tour, for up to 3 people). We chose the 1 hour as it covered areas of the town that we hadnt visited and I booked for 11am the following day rather than chance it. We had a great time, with Luis knowing his stuff and taking us to places we wouldnt have known about. Having your own guide also means you can chat about things in more detail and ask all sorts of questions. We could stop for photos whenever we wanted. The hour went very quickly and we wished we could have carried on for longer. Note that the streets are cobbled, so it wasnt always a smooth ride.

What a great way to get to know the city.
We booked the 1 hour tour and our guide David asked us what we wanted to see before we started so he could make sure we were able to see all these spots in our tour.
We were 3 adults and we fitted nicely in the "fietskoets".
David gave us some nice insights of the city that we would not have gotten from a book or brochure.

What a great tour this was... Just 45 minutes. Bart (yes like Bart Simpson) who was our guide is a history teacher and like I told him, his students are lucky.

We had a day tour to Brugge (mistake, should have stayed there for at least a night) and the first thing we did was take this tour. Bart showed us the spots that other tours do not cover. For example, the cliched horse tour covers the spots that internet can explain better. It is for the joy of a carriage ride one should take that as opposed to learning something about Brugge. This tour though, despite being 45 minutes long, teaches you a lot about their history, small things that only locals would know and is not at all boring like other guided tours tend to be sometimes. And also, since there is no room for more than two people on the cycle carriage, there is no question of being lost in a big crowd and such.

And at 12 Euros per person, this is a must do activity.

Thanks for your wonderful review. Glad to hear that you've enjoyed our tour. It covers indeed small and funny things, that we as locals know. Always happy to share those things :)

We visited the very lovely Bruges for a 3 day break in July 2016, and wanted to let everyone know about a new and wonderful way of seeing the sites with a guided tour. We had the pleasure of spending an hour with Peter from the 'Fietskoetsen Brugge' company as an alternative to a horse and carriage ride, and we have no hesitation in recommending it to all.

The pluses are:-

*Half the price of horse and carriage rides
*.Double the time so you see more
*Friendly and expert knowledge and description of many places of interest from Peter who is a local teacher
*The ride goes to interesting places off the beaten track (not a horse and carriage in sight).

Another big plus for us was that Peter picked us up from outside our hotel. John has walking difficulties so it was great that this level of service was available. Peter has also offered to help us find a tandem trike so that we can get off the beaten track at home too ... what a very lovely fellow he is.

So we say to all, go for it, it will make a great stay in a great city even greater.

I'm not really the type to write reviews or recommendations but genuinely felt that the young guys who'd recently set up this venture deserved some effort on my part. Having done countless tours of various cities throughout Europe throughout the last 3 decades and already completed a boat tour of Bruges that same day , this very individualised Tour and highly knowledgeable Tour Guide ,who seemed very motivated in selling his beautiful city to visitors, was like a breath of fresh air in a jaded tourist industry. Ten plus for effort!

I really recommend this bike tour as it is the best way to see Bruges! Three of us had a one hour tour (which actually lasted more than an hour and was really good value for money) of the both the north and south of Bruges. Our guide Pieter was extremely knowledgeable and gave us loads of interesting information and history, and answered all our questions very patiently! We all agreed it was the best way to see the city and the highlight of our weekend sight seeing. As well as seeing all the more touristy sights, we really enjoyed the peace and charm of the quieter residential streets in the north, and by the end of the tour we felt we really knew our way around, so it was the perfect way to orientate ourselves.
Thank you Pieter!
