This tiny, picturesque, restaurant-filled plaza housing six restaurants for different tastes and budgets. Located between Vismarkt (Fish Market) and canal view Rozenboedkaai street. All restaurants/cafes open all day and evening. We visited two different restaurants and both was filled with nice atmosphere and tasty food. One was restaurant t'Huidevettershuis with panoramic view over water canal, and other one next door to it - French restaurant Duc de Bourgogne.
If you come here from Burg Square, then right at the entrance to Huidenvettersplein, you will see one of the piers where you can buy tickets for a boat ride along the canals of Bruges.

Huidenvettersplein is a small L-shaped square squeezed in between the popular photo spot at Rozenhoedkaai and Vismarkt at the sharp bend in the Dijver Canal. The location is noted for his history of leather tanning.
There is a centre monument in the square, it is a column topped by a much weathered figure that appears to be the traditional lion and bear holding a shield that at one time probably revealed the Bruges Coat of Arms. Today, you'll find a handful of crowded restaurants and canal boat trip operator at the square.

Not too far from the canal to one side and the Markt to the other, this is a little square edged by a few cafes and restaurants. In the centre of the square there's a short column with two lions at the top that I believe form the emblem of the (leather) Tanners. Worth a quick look.

Huidenvettersplein is an atmospheric small square situated at the turn in Dijver Canal. The square dates back to the middle ages and was the site of leather processing until the 15th century.
Today the square is lined with restaurants, many with outdoor seating, creating more of a courtyard feel to Huidenvettersplein. An interesting monument to see here is the very old stone column which is topped by the figure of two lions behind a shield.
Huidenvettersplein is located just a few minutes from important sightseeing areas of Markt and Burg Square. You can easily include a walk through the square while wandering this beautiful area of Bruges.

Another of the many small pretty squares with lovely buildings in Bruges. Some cafes, restaurants. It does get busy with tourists as it is a walk through from nearby popular areas like the Burg Square, The Fish Market and just around the corner is where one photographs that iconic view of Bruges.

Tourist trap! Avoid it! We were waiting more than 1,5 hours for food. At the end it was horrible. Steak was overcooked and chewy.

Small but lovely square at the canal, near the Markt and Burg squares, packed with restaurants and cafes, amazing architecture all around.

Huidenvettersplein, or Tanner's Square, is near Rozenhoedkaai and not far from the fish market.
It is a small square and there is a lion upon a column in the middle of the square. You can also find a few cafes here.
I really liked the buildings on this square and the plaques on the walls above the doors ( look out for the "grumpy" faced corbel)

We came across this small and unassuming public square while walking around the streets. Nothing special about it, really, except it is quiet and out of the tourist paths. There are some cafes and restaurants in the area. Worth checking in if you are in the vicinity.

Small square next to the river with small craft shops. Restaurants and other shops are also steps away.
