love coming here whenever i visit bruges. upstairs is a quaint little tasting room where you can order huge mugs of hot chocolate. my favorite is the salted caramel.

If you would like to travel back in time and taste some international chocolate (e.g. dark chocolate from Ecuador with chili and ginger) this is the place to be. The atmosphere is authentic, the taste awesome and the horse carriage that pass by frequently let you travel in time.

We got there 15 minutes before they were due to open and sat outside to wait. Our kids (and I) were SO excited to try their hot chocolate on our last day in Belgium. After sitting outside a bit waiting, the lady came out to tell us they wouldn't open the tea house until 12:30. There was no notice on the door with their adjusted hours. We had checked online and had walked by yesterday. If we had known, we could have planned our day better. Another set of people came up right as we left to be also told...no hot chocolate. …
