Do not come here if you are on a diet!!
The chocolates in the shop downstairs are truly wonderful. It's a beautiful little old shop, quaint beyond words, service is personal and very helpful. You just ask for the selection you want, or buy a ready made up bag or box of chocolates and truffles.
Upstairs is a tiny little tearoom. If you thought hotchocolate comes in only one flavour, then think again. There were 2 pages of different types, but the waiting staff will carefully guide you through choosing so it's not bewildering. Then you get a huge cup of hot milk and chocolate drops and you mix them together. Yum yum yum. And then we had apple cake with almond ice cream. Amazing, beautifully presented and gorgeous. Very narrow stairs to get up, a bit of a squeeze to get down again after consuming all that loveliness. Can't wait to go back!!

The tea room in this place is very small, and they don't take bookings, so you may have to wait but I would say it is worth it! We were lucky enough to be able to sit straight down even though we visited on a Saturday lunchtime.

They had lots of hot chocolate on offer, and had vegan / dairy free options which was very inclusive. Between us we tried the chilli hot chocolate, speculoos hot chocolate, and hazelnut hot chocolate - all of which were enjoyed! You are served with a MASSIVE mug of warm milk and then the flavourings come from a chocolate "bomb" which you then mix in yourself. We also tried the waffles were also very tasty, and different to those we had previously tried in Brussels.

Would definitely recommend to others!

At first you would think it's just another chocolate shop in bruges and then you see the small stairs to the tea room upstairs. It's small and gets full quickly and then you have to wait for them to call you up. The wait isnt long and service is super quick, but its amaaaaazing. You get a massive cup of hot milk and you choose the choc buttons you want to add. Then you simply pour, stir and drink. Heaven on earth!!! Prive isnt even expensive compared to other hot drinks in town!! You will kick yourself if you dont go to this shop!!

I was with my wife and son visiting Brugge and my son wanted to have some hot chocolate. Chanced upon this joint. We had to queue but the line allowed for the queue was unreasonably short as it was in the chocolate shop below the tea room. Waited for more than half an hour before we got called. Had to wait another 20 Minutes before the waiter came to take our orders. Unfortunately he was very rude and did not show willingness to serve us. It was to such an extent that we felt discriminated. We left without eating there and would not recommend this shop to fellow tourists. The place is also very small and not convenient at all if you intend to have a good conversation with others during your afternoon tea. I would recommend ‘The Pain Quotidien’ which is just 100 m away and they serve as well excellent Hot Chocolate with variety of snacks for your afternoon tea.

Very twee chocolate shop with “tea-room” upstairs serving an eclectic range of chocolate drinks. We went twice, enjoying alcohol flavoured chocolate and large bowls of hot milk that you submerge a bomb of chocolate into and then mix. Also appreciated their waffles. Great fun for the kids. Prices not bad (except for the bottled water). Service was prompt, bordering rushed. Ultimately, the experience is enjoyable for the novelty rather than the quality.
Two restrictions niggled, although didn’t they didn’t affect our party of three; there is a minimum order of one item per person (if one of you doesn’t want anything you presumably have to go stand in the naughty corner) and there is a 1€ charge for extra cutlery (i.e. if you want to share something there is a 1€ surcharge). Absolutely bonkers business practices. Didn’t get paper napkins the first time we went but did the second, maybe another strange business practice?

Ordered a hot chocolate and waffle which were nice and it is a lovely place to sit and relax. Although it is let down by poor customer service. With the exception of one waitress who was very nice and helped my wife with her order.

My wife and I ordered a waffle to eat between ourselves and when it arrived we asked for extra cutlery to eat it with. The waitress said there would be an extra charge, we didn't want to pay this as it seemed ridiculous so politely said no thank you and I ate it with the spoon the hot chocolate came with.

You can't pay with card unless you spend 50 euro so I had to go and lift money. When I came back the lady downstairs had charged for extra cutlery. I told the lady we didn't take extra cutlery to which she replied I'm going to check with the waitress upstais. The lady came back after going upstairs to check with the waitress and said she said you asked for it and I said but we didn't take it. So she reluctantly gave me my money back. I was probally as foolish as the lady for getting upset about the 1 euro cutlery charge. However, unfortunately this ruined my experience and would suggest that maybe they should increase prices rather that charge for extra cutlery even when the customer doesn't take it. However, at 20 euro for one waffle and two hot chocolates it is already quite pricey.

Usually only leave positive reviews on trip advisor but felt this needed to be said in case it happens regulary and from the negative reviews I have read since unfortunately I think it does.

Terrible service and attitude. Owner was telling everyone off, and even overcharged the customer in front of us (who had already spent a LOT of money in this shop).

We bought a few chocolates from here, and they were decent, but nothing special, and certainly not worth being spoken to in such a manner. Whatever you do, don't ask for assistance in which to choose!

TIP: TRY HOME SWEET HOME
It's just a little further down the street, but they were super helpful, and the chocolates tasted far better!

We are a family of four, visiting Bruges for the first time and chance upon this shop. However, we were greeted rudely...we were ask to queue in a rude manner. After 40 minutes of queuing, we reach the second level got our seats. The waiter who serve us was also very rude. When we asked questions about the menu, he was impatient and said he do not have to serve us. We were taken aback by his answers n when ask why he said that, he got angry and says he is not serving us n refuse to serve us. We had no choice but to leave after 40 minutes of waiting and getting our seats. We were shock, taken aback n very upset by our experience. We could not understand why this happen except tt he simy refuse to serve us coz of who we are

We got there 15 minutes before they were due to open and sat outside to wait. Our kids (and I) were SO excited to try their hot chocolate on our last day in Belgium. After sitting outside a bit waiting, the lady came out to tell us they wouldn't open the tea house until 12:30. There was no notice on the door with their adjusted hours. We had checked online and had walked by yesterday. If we had known, we could have planned our day better. Another set of people came up right as we left to be also told...no hot chocolate.

Chocolate but not only, in several different fashions, in a cozy café in the city centre. Had three different dishes and truly enjoyed them, all coming with a little something to enhance the experience.. very well done! Prices are ok, it is definitely a place I recommend paying a visit when in Bruges.
