The St. Walburga Church is a Roman-Catholic church from 17th-century in a Baroque style. We saw this church when we got lost. But we were very happy to be able to visit this church as it has beautiful interior.

Even if you are not religious or catholic, one can enter here for a moment of peace .Try to enter when there is sunlight that gives a magic touch to the interior.

We happened upon this stunning church while looking for the apartment my husband had lived in 20 years ago. We found the apartment and then kept walking down the street and came upon Sint Walburgakerk. It was totally quiet and deserted while we were there and it was just beautiful. The marble carving on the altar rail and the black and white floor were particularly striking.

I came here on the recommendation of a friend, amazing as I had passed the church many, many times and had never thought about going in.
First impressions are how spacious and bright the interior is. We are so used to sombre interiors, with dark stone, and very little light. This is the complete opposite, with white marble predominating, which makes viewing so much easier.
There are some impressive paintings to admire. There is a beautiful carved, wooden pulpit and an amazing carved stone balustrade.
There are a couple of display cases with some interesting artifacts on show, but unfortunately no information is on display.
All in all it is well worth the visit, and being a short walk from the main tourist hubs it is remarkable quiet.

I came across this beautiful church while meandering around the 'outskirts' of Bruges. I saw reviews that made it all the more interesting. To me it was quite unassuming outside - a stark betrayal of what's on the inside. Lovely stained glass, arches, altar and intricate carvings throughout. Wander a bit off the beaten path and discover this one.

400m walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. Beautiful interior with white marble pillars.

Completely over the top interior which is a shame as the outside promises much more.

Not sure if this is a church/museum or just a money spinner.

Much better sights than this to see.

Walked into the church for a break and a look around, Afro a change from bridges and exterior architecture to have a lovely church to visit with the great colours...
Great break from the crowds... spectacle inside

An unusual interior with lots of black and white marble. You have to pay to see it all, once inside, but it is worth paying the small fee to see it all and to see some amazing underground tombs that have been excavated.

Light. spacious with excellent stained glass windows. Still under repair. Not totally different to other churches in the region. Free entry. A quiet respectful visit is expected.
