Beautiful architecture and artifacts

We were able to see most of the cathedral, with very little obstructed by construction. The artifacts and the Michelangelo were all beautiful.

Originally a small church from 9th century but slowly rebuild and got the staus of a cathedral in 1834. Original it was Roman architecture and you still can see find this, afterwards it was continued in gothic style. An impressive building at the outside thats for sure. There are two organs inside too. There was an art robbery in 2009... More

It is scarcely possible to maintain a prayerful atmosphere when there are builders about. But the shop was minimal and there was no real encouragement to pray. One things the place made clear: not only was there almost no English versions of descriptions but no French either. One would not have thought that Belgium was a bi-lingual country. That is... While still under going a long programme of restoration it is still well worth a visit as the architecture and archtifactes are impressive.

The church is as many other churches in Brugge beautiful with many things to see. However we could not see that much since a lot of renovation work was going on.

Of all the churches of Bruges, the Sint-Salvador is the oldest. First, he was short and unprepossessing from the outside, but rich inside. He led the quiet life of a parish Church. To rise to the level of the main Church of Bruges, he was helped, oddly enough the French revolution. In the fight against foreign invaders (Austria) revolutionary army... More

As I wandered in someone asked me, where is the Michelangelo? Are you kidding! Then I saw it...this was actually the first Michelangelo sculpture I saw in person...breathtaking!

A small entrance fee to a beautiful church, and the stunning setting for the famous Madonna & Child. Just a delightful way to spend an hour or so in Brugge

I love the old churches in Europe and this one did not disappoint. It is large, ornate, and I loved the stained glass. The alter is nice. Overall a very nice church in a cool old city.

Medieval stone graves were found below the church floor sometime ago, and these are now on display. There are also some remnants of medieval frescoes and stones, and a relic shrine of St. Elooi. Together it has quite a bit of historical value. And entry was free, although a gift is appreciated.
