Take a break from the busy centre of Bruges and step into a peaceful, silent (if everyone takes notice of the signs!) and memorable place. You will probably take a photo of the picturesque courtyard before you realise you are not supposed to - the resident Benedictine nuns request privacy. The little 'museum' just inside the main gate is really... More

This place remains a haven of tranquillity despite a few tourists who can't understand simple pictorial signs like "don't walk on the grass"!!!

It's so green & quiet here. You forget the hustle & noise from the nearby town. All you hear is the wind rustling in the trees!

We went on the canal boat trip this was a lovely start to a day which turned out to be very hot. You do need to get there early if you are going on boat under your own steam as they are very busy - several different boat points/owners to choose from in a fairly small area

You must drop by this area when in Bruge. It's right beside the canal, is covered with tremendous old trees and has lots of buildings worth taking a look in eg. the church. Very well maintained and perfect for a quiet stroll. Its also easy to get to and has lots of shops and restaurants near by.

If you have been on a canal boat trip or carriage ride, you will have been past this little gem of a place. Take the time to go back and wander in through the white-walled gate. You will find an oasis of peace within the walls of this closed community. The Begijnhof (Beguinage) was home to an order of nuns,... More

Every inch of Burges is beautiful. The area has canals and homes built along them. The good thing is that these are well maintained and do not stink. The house along them look beautify and it is quite a site to see boats as well as birds on the canal. I could sit on a bench by the canal and... More

We drove through the courtyard and gardens of tranquil historic landmark while on a carriage ride. Wish we could have explored the buildings too. What a charming place! We plan to return to this wonderful city and spend more time there.
