Where to begin? The immediate families first time on a ‘cruise ship’ P&O Venutra and done so at the request of another family member for a significant birthday. All looking forward to an extensive taster of the wonders of Bruges… Boarding at Southampton, simply a shambles. Cruise ship, like a lower end Las Vegas strip hotel and casino with will... More

I’ve been on six guided tours in and around Brussels and Paris over the past week and a half. With the exception of this one, they’ve all been good. Viator’s group was by far the largest: you’re crammed into a full-size tour buss with what feels like 60 or 70 other tourists. This alone inhibits interaction with the guide. The... More

Big disappointment! My first (and last) P&O cruise, a two night Mini Cruise to "Bruges"... We arrived in Belgium expecting to be taken to Bruges but when we boarded one of the coaches waiting by the ship, with found a map with directions to Bruges and discovered we were merely being taken to the nearest train station. We had to... More

I really was looking for the "mute" button for the tour guide on the way down to Bruges. Every time I would start to nod off (it is a three hour bus ride after all) on he would come with wonderful facts about when the bridge was build, how the English bombed the old one, or how the saxophone was... I went to Bruges with the travel company National Holidays, never again.Their drivers are impolite and make you so small. After our trip to Bruge we were stopped by the Border Patrol and asked to show what we had purchased while in Bruges, this we did, on going outside to get back on the coach we found out that the coach... Took the Rotterdam hull route on pride of Bruges. Have done the pride of hull a couple of times and had a nightmare with the disco. No such worries with Bruges as the entertainment is completely opposite end of the ship to the accommodation. Bruges is a smaller ship, but a lot smoother (hardly any vibration from the engine, not... More
