The Whale is not there anymore. We didnt’t check it before and where a little bit dissapointed. It’s not there probably because of the winter time.

Visited on 1st November, and looks as though the installation is not there.. certainly got the right place, as can tell by the previous photos, though perhaps this one got away from us. Shame… still went to the nearby chocolate museum.

Walking old town street, gigantic blue whale rises up from a canal over the bridge. It was made of plastic wastes collected from the world. Good chance to think about ecology.

Seeing this appearing to soar out of the water is something to focus the mind realising all the stuff that people dump it certainly has the desired affect.

Plastic is ruining our oceans and our most beloved sea creatures. The sculpture looks impressive far away and up close. Nice one Bruges.

A very clever piece which is interesting both at a distance or close up. In the heat of the dry spell we’ve been having and with the numerous tour boats churning the waters it was a bit smelly close by. Enjoyable non the less.

Beautiful, innovative sculpture with a strong message. But it is falling on deaf ears. I abhor single use plastic bottles but due to the complete lack of facilities to refill water bottles in Bruges my wife and I were forced to buy (and discard) 8...More
