Leuven from Brussels

Medieval Leuven: a fairy tale city, so trendy, young and smart. Leuven is one of the oldest university cities in Europe where brilliant minds and international researchers feel at home. The city should absolutely be in your bucketlist as it is full to the brim with things to see and to experience. Close to Brussels it is a fascinating truly medieval city with stately university buildings dotted throughout the centre, But… its definitely the many students that bring the city alive 24/24 and 7/7.

What a beautiful building! I drove past this many times and was disappointed I did not have time to attend mass there to see the inside.

This place is one of the 7 wonders of Leuven, but a pity that it is in such a bad condition, it really needs urgent renovation. Place is not open for visits, only visible from the outside

Response from Tyler D, Manager at Sint-Kwintenskerk
Responded Dec 10, 2017
Hi, Daniel, thanks for your review! Unfortunately, indeed, most of the churches in Leuven aren't regularly open for visits during the winter months. During the summer, the church is open for visiting. Find out more at http://openchurches.be/church_detail.asp?n=sint-kwintens&churchID=308. However, the church is open for Mass Monday‑Friday at 18:00 and Sundays at 9:00. While visits aren't allowed in the church while Mass is being celebrated, you can visit before (we usually open around 30 minutes before Mass starts) or after Mass. We hope you come back and visit again!

This church is a high gothic masterpiece. It has a small chapel on the street side which is adorable. The church itself is really beautiful, with nice pieces of art hanging in between the large gothic windows.
