Don't miss the canal ride with a live guide! Lots of great anecdotes. I was impressed with the way in which facades were maintained facing the square, but the modern remodeled sides faced the canal. Who would have guessed?

Saint-Michael's Bridge is named this way because of the statue of Saint-Michael slaying the dragon. It is a nice stone arched bridge over the river Leie (Lysse) from the early 20th century but blends in well with the medieval surroundings. It oversees the mediëval port of Gent with a wonderful view on the Count's Castle, the old Fish Market and... More

When in Ghent you MUST cross this Bridge in order to get breathtaking view of the three beautiful medieval towers in a row - but try to ignore the watchtower seen in this picture (it belongs to an undescript former post Office)!

Linking the two halves of the city this is the place to stand and take in the views of the city centre. Very impressive.

As you pass the 3 big churches and head towards St Michel Church, you will pass this bridge. The views from it and the photo opportunities are great here.

Super nice vieuw from the bridge . In summertime when you have luck, you even can enjoy the pole pole festival. Taking the stairs you will arrive close to the river.
