Nice boat trip for the entire family. Good explanation in different languages. Not too long and not too short.

Nice little boat tour! Our tour guide was informative and it was most impressive to hear him give the information in 3 different languages.

We took a day trip from Bruges to Ghent. For a variety of reasons, we were exhausted by the time we got to this tour, so I realize that may color how we felt about the tour. When we approached, no one asked us for a ticket (we had prepaid) - just whether we wanted the covered tour or uncovered boat tour. They leave at regular intervals so it was either the first one now or wait like 10-15 minutes. We wanted to get off our feet, so we chose the covered boat. I would not recommend this option unless its bad weather or you don't care about pictures, as all my pictures had interference with the plastic covering. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and spoke in several languages, however it was hard to tell when he switched to a new language and if you needed to pay attention. I think also that made the tour commentary feel a bit rushed, as he was trying to say the same thing in 3 languages before the boat passed the building. The speakers were also difficult to hear with. I personally felt like the tour could have lasted a bit longer or shown us more, but for the price, I guess 40 minutes wasn't bad. The guide did ask for tips afterwards, which felt a bit contrived and wasn't what we had experienced in our other tours across Europe, so I felt a little awkward. We didn't feel like Ghent had much more to offer, so we had a beer/light lunch after and left shortly thereafter. I think if you are Ghent, it's a good idea to see the canal in the city center, but perhaps there are better boat and/or walking tours.

A lovely way to see the city from a different view point. Great length of time - with options for covered or uncovered depending on the weather. Interesting information, though not in depth history - just explaining what each building was. An excellent feature is that it is a multilingual tour - so caters for many nationalities, not just English speakers.

Excellent value. Gives a different perspective on the city The pilot/guide gave a brilliant commentary in English on the sights and history. We went on the open boat with parasols which were lowered each time we went under a low bridge which gave us a good view but kept us dry on a drizzly day.
