Loved Ghent! If you love Brugge, you’ll feel right at home here too. Lots of canals to explore with pavement cafes/bars everywhere. Wonderful atmosphere and plenty to do. Will go back.

Kraanlei is a really lovely area of the city of Gent. We walked around the city and were extremely impressed with the beauty of many areas but here it is particularly nice. You can sit down anywhere and just enjoy the wonderful views or walk around and absorb everything in sight. You will not be disappointed.

We couldn't get enough of the views from both sides of the river/canal. The buildings are beautiful, especially at night with the water reflection!

The Kraanlei, named after the wooden cranes along the Leie River in the 16th Century, this area of Ghent is a beautiful place to stroll along the water, look into shops, stop for a bite, and/or just enjoy the gorgeous urban Flemish landscape.

Way more interesting to visit if you informed yourself about Gent‘s habour history. Consider a guided tour.

I lived in Bangkok for three years and love Asian food. Wherever I go I am always looking for the Asian restaurants. I must admit, I've been disappointed in Europe so far. Not here! Ordered chicken Panang curry and it was delicious. Maybe the best I've ever had. Reminded me of home. For sure come here if you want the real deal. Kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil, Thai eggplant. Very good. A lot of food though. Wish I could have taken the rest back with me but I was in a hotel.

Unmissable authentic feel when walking by the canal, admiring the buildings and the boats going up and down. This place is amazing at night when it's all lit up and the reflection in the canal is absolutely dazzling.

Just go there and enjoy walking along the canal, many nice shops are around but they all close at 6 o'clock in the evening except fthe restaurants. Don't forget your camera.

Is this places connected through tram or do I need to take a taxi?

You can take the tram but will have to do changes. Best way to reach is to take a taxi from the station.
