We came by tram form the Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station (5 stops) to get here.
This building was the first one in Gent I checked out. What a start!!!!
A must to see!

We walked by this cool and unique building each day on our way from our hotel to the city center. The rooftop is definitely awesome with the statues all lvse it. Well worth the stop.

Intriguing and outstanding building near the Cathedral. Very detailed sculptures at the roof, and amazing details all around.

Yet another stunning Ghent building, this time topped with magnificent sculptures.
It's situated on the left hand side of the road as you walk down to St>michaels bridge.

Lovely architecture. We only saw from the outside. It is along a strip of canal with many notable buildings, boat rides, bars. Lively area.

We saw this building from the outside and truly admired the sculptures as well as the facade. Interesting to check out.

The original 16th century Mason's Guild Hall is one of the most lively of Ghent's many interesting buildings with the sculptures of dancers on top of it, bring life and amusement to the street.

At the side is a modern extension, which is fairly minimalist and respects the facade of the old building

Looks terrific from the street. The glass and steel building behind it takes a moment to get used to but the facade is fabulous.

Continue to find the architecture in Gent to be amazing. The mason's guild is another great example of that. The lower level was discovered during renovation to be of the medieval period. Removing the stucco front the facade was restored to its present state and the top part with dancing figurines that adorn the top were added and expected to spin and ""dance" with the wind. Unfortunately the wind does not blow very strong in this spot and even if it did, the dancers turned out to be far too heavy for any wind to turn them.

A beautiful building in its own right (one would expect nothing less of a masons' guild hall!) with several storeys and multiple pillars and coats of arms, but what marks this building out are the six amazing dancing statues on the roof, appearing as if they are about to fly off. The two right at the top are the Devil and his wife (I didn't know that there was a Mrs Satan!)
