We came across this large square by accident and was intrigued with the unusual statue of these two human figures and the two snails one inside the case and one on a roap outside the cage. The farmers bring their produce into here on weekends...More

Namur seems to be a myriad of squares and little side streets running off from the more modern shopping centre. This square in front of. rather impressive building, is the home to some unusual bronzes, one of which is a snail!

Medium size square but still manage to give a feeling of space. The seeing itself is quickly done but goes well with a visit of the city. During winter, it is where the Christmas Market takes place. The occasion gives a very good atmosphere.

Usual European town square but attractive and has some nice bars and cafes. Whole town is pretty and worth a visit.

The more I travel around Belgium the more I come to appreciate the subtle, slightly self-depreciating, and definitely warped Belgian sense of humour. A perfect example is this interesting sculpture in Namur's Place d'Armes. It was created by the Belgian artist Suzanne Godard based on...More

It is situated just in the middle of the town. It is near the main commercial area and right next to some really good restaurants. It has free WiFi and sometimes cute concerts happen to be going on there.

We’d walked through this square several times during our outing in Namur and noticed the statues and fountains, all seemingly somewhat run-down with the "triste charme" of Belgian towns. Later at home I learned that two cartoon-figure-looking statues at one end of the square were...More
