As a fan of Band of Brothers, we chose the tour with that emphasis and were not disappointed. Reg IS THE MAN! We met him at 9am and the tour ended at 530PM. We followed the footsteps of Easy Company in Bastogne, Foy, Nuville, and Rachamps. Reg had photo albums with pictures of the veterans, actors, and places at each stop so we could relate the history with the series. He verified the truth of the series and pointed out where Hollywood artistic license strayed from the truth. A real bonus in our trip was by chance meeting actor, James Mateo (Frank Peconte) while in Foy and getting a photo. Reg has met most of the actors from the series and James was glad to see him.

Reg was booked when we were there but Roby did not disappoint. We had a great time with him. His knowledge and experience in the area and history are impressive. This is the best tour in the area!

We had a truly remarkable experience with Reg in Bastogne. My husband is a WWII buff and Band of Brothers fan, while my grandfather survived the Battle or the Bulge. Reg’s extensive working knowledge of the region’s history and intimate friendships with Veterans and their families help him weave an incredibly thoughtful and interesting story of the area. We felt the tour to be very well tailored to our interests and knowledge base. It is worth planning your holiday around a tour with Reg. Highly recommend!

Are you interested in the personal stories behind the heroes of the battle of the Bulge? Then Reg is your man. Not only did he personally meet and befriend a lot of veterans, he also guided the crew of band of brothers. Reg is one of the most passionate story tellers we've ever met. He knows all kinds of anecdotes about Bastogne and basically devoted his life to passing on these stories. This guy will take you on a tour that you'll never forget and would want your children and grandchildren to witness as well. We think the contribution of Reg to passing on this legacy in the vivid and profound way he does, is of an invaluable importance. Thanks again Reg!

Want a battlefield experience like no other? Then take a trip with Reg! He spent more time on the battlefields with the men who fought in these places than anyone around. If you can't hear a veterans story from him, why not hear it from someone who did, and was standing in the same spot on the battlefield when he told him that story? Not to mention how many family members of veterans and actors from the Band of Brothers show that he's toured with. We hired Reg for 2 days and he took the 4 of us all over the Bastogne area. Reg brought the history to life in a way I've never experienced. Standing in Foy looking at the tree lines where the men's foxholes still exist I could almost see the men running across the fields. I got chills hearing some of the stories of the men who fought in these places. Reg has a way of telling these stories that really bring the carnage and emotion of battle to life. Reg built flexibility into our tours as well which gave us chances to see more locations than just the more mainstream locations. Being a once in a lifetime trip I can't say thank you enough to Reg for making our days in Bastogne unforgettable. I hope I can come visit again, and in the meantime I'll recommend Reg to anyone and everyone I can!

Our two day tour with Reg Jans Battlefield Experience exceeded all of our expectations. On Day One, Reg's colleague, Frank Gubbels, was our guide for the "Band of Brothers" tour. We learned so much about what the HBO series got right, and where they fudged a bit about what actually happened. To hike through the Bois Jacques; to see Winters' command post, Doc Roe's aid station, where Foxhole Norman ran for help, actual foxholes; Foy... the entire day was a dream come true.
Day Two with Reg was just as good if not better. It turns out that our hotel was just around the corner from the aid station where nurse Renee Lernaire was killed - now it's a Chinese restaurant. On Day One we learned that she and Doc Roe never met. A few doors away, Reg pointed out von Rundstedt's former headquarters, and told us about Hitler's 1940 visit to Bastogne.
When we told him that a friend's father had served with the 17th Airborne during the Battle of the Bulge, he took us to Flamierge, and gave us incredible insight to what those men endured - for the most part they are ignored by history.
We saw the one location where German tanks briefly broke through the American lines - by a Roman road that led to the castle where Gen. Patton awarded the Distinguished Service Cross to General McAuliffe. We also saw the farmhouse where Germans delivered their ultimatum to surrender, and received Gen. McAuliffe's reply!
Our heads are still spinning with all of our new knowledge and insights - but in a good way. I didn't realize that the Battle of the Bulge was the largest ground battle in the history of the US Army. And, I didn't realize just how awful it was. It's easier now for me to understand why so many members of the Greatest Generation could not talk about what they experienced during the War.
If you are a World War II buff, this is hog heaven.

We toured the Northern edge of the Bulge with Reg. His knowledge and first hand accounts from various veterans he befriended were truly amazing. Reg made you feel you were in the middle of the battle with his knowledge and ability to relate the conflict like it was just happening.

We were with the WW2 Museum group from New Orleans, and this was under a Belgian Army building which withstood the battles. Our Guide, from Belgium, spoke perfect English, and got his Master's in Military History from LSU & Phd from Ohio State! He knew every inch of the vase & this center, which featured the Command post, Radio room, and storage spaces.

I was so glad when I found Reg Jans website and rightfully so! The promise of getting as close as one still can to the real stories behind Band of Brothers was fully answered during the tour: Reg simply breaths history and passion for his subject, recalling the Battle of The Bulge with historical accuracy, supplied with countless stories and personal accounts of The Veterans he had a chance to meet through this life. I cannot recommend this tour enough: it’s worth your time, money and effort! Thank you!

Hello!
My dad and I are doing our own WWII tour through Europe. I am a 6th grade history teacher and my dad is a big history buff. We are so excited about our trip but are having some trouble. I am planning it all for him and I am having the HARDEST time finding a day tour from Brussels to Bastogne to see the Battle of the Bulge history. I would hate to cancel this part of our trip. We will be arriving from Omaha Beach to Brussels on June1 and had scheduled in a full day to tour Bastogne on Tuesday, June 2. You are booked that day and so is every other tour I can find. Do you have any ideas for us at all on what to do? I'm not sure who else to ask. Thank you for your time.

How can I book the general tour of Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge museum with Reg?

It's a really easy process! Just go to his website and follow the steps listed under "how to book a tour". Once you've checked his calendar for availability you can email him to discuss the details of what you're looking for. He is super easy to work with, very responsive on email. I tried to put in a link to the "how to book a tour" page on his website, but TripAdvisor won't allow website links in the answer! Hope this still helps!

Hi! I went on a private tour in May 2014 and the prices were
Standard Tours Bastogne: 85 Euro per person per day.
Private Tour Bastogne : 1-4 people: 360 euro per day 5-10 people: 500 euro per day.
Well worth it. Reg is extraordinarily well versed in all aspects of the battle, so he can customize a tour for you. Bear in mind it was a huge battle over a large area, so you can't see it all. I did Bastogne area, not limited to Band of Brothers, and it was amazing.

We are interested in visiting the Henri Chappelle cemetery to see the grave of a relative. Can we do that on a tour with you?

How do we get there from Antwerp? What is the cost? How long are the tours?

From Antwerpen Centraal Station, take the train to Brussels-Nord. Then switch trains to head out towards Luxembourg, but make sure I has the stop you need which is Libramont. Once in Libramont, you'll take the bus direct to Bastogne. The bus stop is out front of the train station in Libramont.
I don't know how much the trains were because I used the 10 rides pass. The bus from Libramont to Bastogne is 3 euro for the 35 kilometer trip, and you can pay on the bus. You can get off at Bastogne Sud or Nord, depending on where you're going.
Just reverse the route when going back.
I just did this last month (March 2015).
