In the afternoon the neighborhood is very quiet, "almost" clean in terms of trash, no homeless people, no drunk or drugged people, you can walk around peacefully.
On Saturday evening from 10:00 p.m., the Carré changes its face. The streets are invaded by young people looking for drinks. The bars huddled together, each pump out their music at full decibels! A real screaming cacophony. The large fluorescent lights of the bars spread everywhere in the alleys. Difficult and sometimes impossible to make your way through these alleys where revelers crowd in good weather. We start to come across young people who are totally drunk and vomiting their excess. On the other hand, at this time of the night, no aggression, the young people let you slip between them without problem. Huge trash cans are overflowing everywhere in all the alleys. Waste happily litters the pavement. We left the Carré at 10:30 p.m. I can't imagine the atmosphere in the middle of the night and in the early morning. I don't regret my visit to the famous Carré, it's worth a look.

Restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping, everything, at any time. It’s the reason why Liège it’s called LA CITÉ ARDENTE. Just attention in the night. Many people are drunk and looking for problem.

Liege's student population is rather well-known for their impressive study/life balance. Roaming groups of cheering, chanting, aspiring academics in broad daylight are not an uncommon sight.
At night, even more so, as cheap beers in bars inevitably spills onto the narrow alleyways. Be careful of the uneven and wet cobblestones, it's not only wet from the rain and beer...

You won't find anything nice in the middle of the day in there.
But if you're loving night life, you need to try 10 bars at minimum. The sphere is so special in many of them, with funny people. You'll love it !
Pay attention to stay in the main alleys. You could feel unsafe besides.

It's a nice location to go out at night. I think it's a safe district. The prices are normal. It's a small district but there is a nice variety of bars offering different kinds of music and concepts. I went to " Le Truc" and I was contentes.

Fabulous little streets which during the day offer super shopping - both cheap and designer (Irina Kha = designer), and at night many bars open and restaurants, and it is a big party in the streets, especially on weekends!

I used to visit durng my student years. The area is full of cafes, restaurant and is lively up to late night. It is safe but like any place if you are a tourist you have to be cautious. Want to taste Night Life in Liege, this is the place where the young crowd gathers.

It's cool for hanging out with friends and drink, you have like a lot of options for stay because there is a lot of bars and everything, no so expensive and also it's no so long from the Train station (Liege palais) as a exchange student it's the best you can do in the weekends

When exploring the sights this must be put on the list as a place to shop for Belgium chocolates and beer. Watch out for the narrow alleys
