The Aquarium and Zoological Museum is a museum of the University of Liege dedicated to the aquatic world and natural sciences. The Aquarium allows you to discover the seas of Europe including sharks and moray eels, tropical seas and coral reefs with balloon fish, groupers,...More

The aquarium and zoological museum are very interesting and both have a good collection. The section all about coral is very interesting. But as a university museum, it is much more of an old school academic museum than a modern hands on experience, so may...More

I'm not much of a museum fan, but this one was quite interesting. The aquariums were pretty nice, looking at some weird fishes is always fun. On the top floor were skeletons and taxidermized(?) animals, like apes, (big) cats, birds and other animals. The place...More

Visited only the aquarium which is maintained by the University Zoology Dept. An informative collection including useful statistics on species vulnerability where data exist. Most tanks are fairly small though there are 2 much larger enclosures, 1 including a horseshoe crab, which I have seen...More

The aquarium is well presented and clearly labelled, although relatively small. The museum is a natural history museum, with a clear trend towards zoology and the feel of a University collection, which it actually is. The building is the Zoology Department of the University, some...More

Not big, but beautifully presented and labelled. Displays includes full information in four languages. Lots of benches for adults to sit and steps for children to climb. There are a few small tanks on the side of the stairs. Look for the African clawed frog...More

Went to see the shark. It was tiny and I thought missing in action until others informed me that I had simply turned my head in the wrong direction when I passed the open tank.

We spent a nice afternoon at the aquarium on a rainy day and very much enjoyed the aquarium and zoological museum. My young daughter, who loves all things animal, had the best time naming all the creatures and then learning the names in French.
