Tucked away in the inner suburbs of Brussels is this superb collection of some 250 cars and 30 motorbikes. With the creme-a-la-creme of the collection on display, for the car enthusiast, this collection is not to missed. D'Ieteren in Belgium date back to 1806 and have been involved in the manufacture of horse drawn carriages before moving on to automobiles. The seventh generation of the D'Ieteren family are now involved in running the business and galery. The collection includes cars from Auto Union, Bentley, Studebaker, Porsche, Volkswagen, Bugati, Maserati, and many others.

This is the private museum of the D'Ieteren company, which was smart enough to take the licence on importing Audi & Volkswagen to Belgium. We discover that they also represented Studebaker in the older times.
The museum has a nice collection of cars but nothing extraordinary if you already saw old collectible cars before. It is overall a small museum and my main reproach is the very bad lighting, which is made of pointed and strong spots. They reflect very strongly on the cars and back into your eyes, the overall ambience being dark. Any picture you'll take there will be bad.
The visit of this museum didn't leave any mark on me, I just saw a few nice cars, that's it.
Normaly the guided tour of the collection costs 100EU for a group and I think it's not any near worth it. It's only interesting if you have an opportunity of visiting it for free and your are passionate about old cars. Nothing more.
