Affectation Anyone?
Dec 2018 • Family
Went here for some late night chocolates as they were the only chocolatier open (I’ll give them a point for THAT anyway), but oh my goodness, how affected can you get? It was ALL about the packaging....nice, expensive looking little green boxes placed into large green bags for 8 pieces of chocolate. And what about environmental consciousness? More expensive than other chocolatiers in the Sablon area, too, which although OK, the quality of the product didn’t warrant. Here’s an idea: spend less on packaging and pass on better prices to your customers. If other places are open, go there.

Minimalistic, not bad
Sep 2018 • Friends
Patrick Roger's shop is a unique, minimalistic space, unlike the other chocolate shops around Brussels. The chocolates are nice, and so was the service - being the only ones in the shop, we got all the advice and attention needed.

Eye opening

He is an artist. His basil lemon chocolate is mind blowing. He mastered a way to showcase gentle flavors with chocolate and I want to learn under him.

Must visit!
Apr 2018 • Couples
First off, I am not a huge fan of chocolate but my partner is so we did the chocolate tour and I am so glad we did.

Now I realize I just needed to find the chocolate I liked - because WOW, Patrick Roger's is delicious. The chocolate is incredible, so smooth. The taste stayed in my mouth for a good hour afterwards and I am really glad our guide left this one for last.

The store itself is gorgeous and the carvings stunning. I love how the island looks like a giant slab of chocolate. If you like chocolate, you must go here. I just wish there was one in Toronto as I would definitely buy some!

A little piece of heaven
Mar 2018 • Couples
Visiting Brussels for a few days and was strolling around the lovely Place du Grand Sablom. Came across Patrick Roger Chocolatier's amazing show and just had to go in and take a 2nd look; could this really be a chocolate shop? Oh yes it was and without doubt the most outstanding I have ever seen anywhere.

The room decoration was so avant-garde that you for a moment forgot about the chocolate. But then you started looking at the 'goods' and tasted a few. It was a true taste explosion in your mouth - divine! The word 'divine is well chosen as the window display made of metal plates and were designed to touch ever so slightly; sounded like the fine bells of a cathedral. I really felt like sitting on a cloud sharing small bites of heaven.

It is a must visit destination!

Creative shop and excellent chocolates
Dec 2017 • Couples
Patrick Roger is a Parisian based chocolatier with a shop at Place du Grand Sablon in Brussels. This is a neat shop, selling high quality and delicious chocolates. Opening hours 10.30-7pm daily but closed on Mondays.

We really enjoyed the chocolate sculpture theme of the shop, along with the signature teal-green brand colour, Patrick Roger finds a way to stick out amongst the many dozens of high-quality chocolate brands which can be found throughout the city of Brussels. The large scale chocolate penguins at Patrick Roger are quite eye-catching.

Like most chocolatiers, here you can purchase by the box set, prepackaged bags and chocolate bars. You can also pick-and-pay by weight, selecting the pralines and ganache available. Prices are towards the high end at Patrick Roger but the quality is there. Of the pralines we sampled, we most enjoyed the Earl Grey tea praline. We also very much like the dark chocolate bar purchased and enjoyed back home after our trip to Brussels.

Note: Packaging is quite nice at Patrick Rogers, convenient for long-distance travel if you want to make purchases and take something back for friends and family.

One of my favourite chocolatier
Aug 2017 • Solo
I still don't get all the hype around Pierre Marcolini (who is also an excellent chocolatier, don't get me wrong) while the Patrick Roger shop is (almost) empty every time I go there. I really like Patrick Roger and their chocolate tablets are my favourite in the whole of Brussels (not too sweet, lots of cocoa flavours). Their pralines are very good too, some experimenting with interesting combinations. Not on the cheap side but definitely worth tasting.

This thing is not really cheap but delicious. You can find all types of chocolate with different percentage of cacao. All products look wonderful and tasty. And there is also an art made of chocolate

Delicious Chocolate
Sep 2016 • Friends
We stopped at Patrick Roger by recommendation to buy some authentic Belgian chocolate as we strolled around beautiful Brussels. It did not disappoint.
There was a huge sculpture in the window front, and it was made entirely of chocolate.
The smell was amazing as soon as you walked in. We carried around the chocolates we bought for the rest of our trip! Great truffles...great place!
