Brussels is famous for its chocolate, and chocolate shops are everywhere. This one has opened a stylish shop on a top location, but it is a disappointment. Good chocolate, yes, like the better brands in your supermarket. But not special. Do yourself a favour and look for the small, quirky manufacturers - there are hundreds of them, and you wont have to look far. Or go for one of the traditional big players, so at least you get the Brussels tradition. Newbie Passion chocolat stirs no passion in me.

We were driving through the country and we were looking for something to do in the evening. We only had about 2 hours to find something to do and some where to eat. Choosing something to do first and play the rest by ear always makes the best experiences! I read reviews for this store and decided to give it a try. I do believe in the old philosophy that life is short and one must take time to smell the roses, or in this case make the time to eat Chocolate!!! It's situated right near a small square in a hotel. Found parking on the street in front of the shop. We had just made it in time before the shop closed and our shop girl Maria was so patient and wonderful. She spoke many languages and lucky for us English was one of them! She let us taste many items and I made boxes for each of us (3) and if I have to be honest, everything and I mean EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious! All these years I thought I didn't like hazelnuts in chocolate. Maria gave me a piece to try and I was sold. I'm like, "Yes add that one to my box!" And it's probably because this was freshly made chocolate using only fresh ingredients, what a difference. Unfortunately I am spoiled now and only want to eat European chocolate! A must if you are ever in the area. Favorites: For me it was the dark truffles, husbands was anything with caramel and Maria threw in a bunch of chocolate covered coffee beans that was my daughters favorite!

We knew we hit gold on first bite. Although we continued on to all the other chocolate shops in town, we knew Passion was the one even before we tasted the rest. Their shells are thin yet strong, hiding the smooth, rich, and flavourful fillings inside. The 85% Dark is absolutely heavenly for dark chocolate lovers - a surprising mellow sweetness to such a high percentage of dark chocolate. All their flavours were bold while blending effortlessly with the flavours of the chocolate itself. The shop staff working the day we visited was such welcomingly bubbly and cheerful, and we chatted much more than just over our order of chocolates. (Twice, since we decided to go back for more before we regretted not buying enough in our short one day stay!) We sorely miss her, and the unforgettable chocolates!!!

From the moment you walk in your senses are assailed with the scent of chocolate... deep, rich, decadent chocolate. The young lady working was so friendly and you could tell she loved what she was doing. A must shop to visit.

We were very lucky to be staying at the hotel Passion Chocolat shares a building with otherwise we may never have sampled what turned out to be, by actually quite a long way, our favourite Brussels chocolates.
We tried all of the famous chocolate shops (some of which have Sablon square locations) as well as independent places recommended by TripAdvisor members and we simply didn't eat anything tastier, fresher or better value than we found at Passion.

Very good chocolate at reasonable prices, so it's a good place to buy souvenirs to take back to others. They did end up opening about 30 minutes later than stated, so we had to sit outside in the rain for a while.

Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. If, like me, you came to Belgium excited to buy genuine Belgian chocolates but wound up overwhelmed by the choice available (both in Brussels and in the other cities), let me assure you that you cannot go wrong with Passion Chocolat. Fabulous chocolates combined with friendly, helpful and well-informed service.
I had an idea in my mind that staff in such upmarket chocolate shops might be rather aloof, but this could not have been further from the truth here. The assistant, Maria, was really friendly and helpful without ever being pushy. She insisted that we try a chocolate of our choice and then was available to chat about the range of chocolates, and the options for gift boxes. She even offered some really interesting insights into the chocolate-making process, the impact of temperature etc. while we made our choice. And the chocolates were wonderful. There are a few places that focus on quirky/unconventional flavours, but this isn’t one of them. They’re much more about the classics. Check out their website for the selection. We only sampled a few between us, but they were all lovely and the ones we have gifted so far have been met with wholehearted enthusiasm.

I enjoy Neuhaus and I enjoy Corne Port Royal. But when I want a very special gift... it's time for Passion. They are the top notch best in BXLS>

Used TripAdvisor to locate a dark chocolate specialty chocolatier since I only had a few days in Brussels and so happy I did - Passion Chocolat a great little shop and the staff were so friendly and nice (make it clear you are planning to buy some - and you will - and then she will take the sample charges off your bill...and give me bunches of taste tests). I bought several boxes home to the US plus a box of dark chocolate spoons to dissolve in milk for hot chocolate - kids loved it!! Can't explain how good the chocolate is - you need to stop here and taste just about everything....awesome.

Couldn't recommend highly enough. The lady that served us (apologies fir not taking note of her name) couldn't do enough to help and clearly loves her job, which comes across in the manner and humour in which she serves her customers. Several of the other chocolate shops had staff that appeared surly or disinterested
The chocolates themselves are unbelievable and the lady was more than happy to give out sample after sample without us even asking (we left the shop stuffed)
Great product, amazing staff ... The only place you need it visit for chocolate in Brussels
