I traveled to Brussels with my husband, mother and sister and did this free walking tour on the second day of our visit. I always do these free city walking tours when I travel to Europe and this tour with this company, Sandeman, lived up to my expectations. Our tour guide's name was CHARLOTTE (Thank you Charlotte!) and she was such a amazing guide. She's a historian and a local of Brussels so she was very knowledgable about the history, culture, politics, nightlife, food and drinks, people, etc. She had a great sense of humor throughout the tour! My mom is 65 and does struggle a bit with long walks and stairs and thankful to Charlotte for keeping a good manageable pace, my mom was able to keep up with the group. The tour was 3 hours (which included a 15-min break) - Charlotte did a great job staying on time! I would highly recommend doing the this tour (and hopefully having Charlotte as a guide) because it's a great way to get a quick intro into the many sites of the city. After this tour you can really narrow down where you would like to go and spend more time visiting. With the four of us, we thought a tip of 50 Euros was appropriate for Charlotte - it was very well deserved!

Adrian was fantastic. This 2.5 hour tour of the city hit the major hot spots and mixed comedy, history, and local advice. Adrien was fantastic and his recommendation to have Belgian waffles from a good truck without toppings was a game changer. Thanks for an amazing intro to our friends weekend in Brussels!!

I can generally recommend SANDEMANs Tours for anyone wanting to explore different cities in Europe. For me it is the first "go to" activity when visiting a new city. It allows you to gain a good broad overview over the different historical, traditional and cultural aspects of a city before visiting any specific spots.

The tour with Fraser was very informative. He is a fun guide with an incredible knowledge on the history of the city. 100% recommend to join!

A great introduction to Brussels when you have limited time for your visit. Fraser was very knowledgeable, friendly and tolerant guide. He was able to answer all questions historical, geographical, gastronomic and personal. As always the trip was free but you are encouraged to tip the guide what you felt the tour was worth. It was well worth the euros we paid in gratitude.

I did the Classic Brussels walking tour with Adrien and it honestly set the new standard for Free Walking Tours. I happily handed him 20€ and felt almost cheated by tour guides in other cities who had recieved 20€ from me for a far lesser experience. He was funny, charming, knowledgeable, and full of really helpful advice about everything from finding a laid-back place to eat in the midst of the New Year's rush, to which food truck precisely sells the best Liege waffles. Adrien truly was the best tour guide I have had out of 10+ cities on multiple continents. I would recommend anyone looking for a free walking tour of Brussels to seek out Adrien specifically.

Thanks Adrien!

Our tour guide, Fraser, was awesome--informative and interactive, and knew how to get us all talking to each other. He had a great grasp on the country and how to approach being a tourist there (probably because he moved there from Scotland). A friend and I chose this tour because it was a bit longer and included a bathroom break in the middle, and I can say it was super worth it. To be able to passively hear about the history of the city while looking around the city was awesome, and he even dispelled some myths we read online.

My favorite part about Fraser was definitely his ability to interact with everyone, from a young boy in a family to some Masters' students. We ended the tour with the most beautiful view of the city, and even got some additional recommendations on where we should spend the rest of the day.

After taking off from the plaza, we saw several important places in Brussels. There our guide Matthias gave us fun but also historic explanations of how things and places came to be. The mid-time spot at Scott’s Cafe Bar really had the most amazing hot chocolate. Overall it was 10/10 and he really deserved the tips we offered at the end.

Me and my friend did the Free walking tour of Brussels on a Saturday morning with Max. It was wonderful! Our guide was ideal, born and raised in Brussels, he had an interesting route planned out, he was fun, theatrical, and knew how to answer every question he was asked. I absolutely recommend it!

We did the 2.5 hour free walking tour of Brussels with Fraser, who was a great guide. Though we had seen several of the sites on our own, we learned much more about the history of the city and buildings and felt better oriented for our time in Brussels after the tour. 2.5 hours seems like a long time, but it flew by; Fraser was very entertaining and there was plenty to see. There's also a break in the middle where you can get a drink and use the bathroom. We would definitely strongly consider a Sandeman's tour anywhere else we go in Europe.
