I visit this place every time I visit Brussels and what I like the most is that it has this local feel that makes me be relaxed and comfortable. Don't expect fancy dishes but all plates I've tried are nice to accompany a beer. Good selection of drinks and even though the service can be a bit grumpy it is... More

I just had dinner there, 2 hours ago. The staff, a lady, I think Belgian, who helped me select what beer to drink, was very kind, humble and very nice. I had a basic dinner, Belgian cheese, special for this month (vieux fromage de Chimay) and the restaurant own white beer (Lambic Blanche), also special for this month. Both beer... More

Its not the place to go have a great meal but surely you can sit and enjoy their specialty - beer of course. Had a really exciting experience because i met a guy sitting next to me that gave me the most impressive history lesson about that place. Beer talk or not its a place i will never forget.

Too bad the staff was not friendly. The building is very nice. However, the prices are ridiculous. Much better authentic bars can be found in Brussels. Don't forget, the prices included a (hefty) 16% service charge. (very uncommon for Belgium!)

We need to go back in time for more then 100 years to explore the origin of this unusual name. About 1910 Mr. THEOPHILE VOSSEN ran an establishment called "LA COUR ROYALE". Amongst his many customers were a lot of employees working at the National Bank of Belgium. Those employees passed their time in the pub playing a dives game... More

Very Belgian but touristy. Only sell beer, no G&T. Staff were as described in one of the guide books as 'brusque' but that was ok.

What i can say... Very traditional place, no TV during EU championship, no wi-wi, amazing beer and good snacks. Grate Belgian hospitality!

You can't go to Brussels without stopping at this pilar of Brussels. Old style typical brasserie where you can enjoy a Belgian beer and have some food. Good break in a day of visits

really nice and must visit cafe. Interior hassn't changed since. Only downside is the price of a beer, which can be quite expensive, but worth the experience if you ask me.

Well worth a visit. Try the beers - especially gueuze. Historic Brussels café with touches of art nouveau. Calm and with no muzak. The food menu is rather basic - just nip down to the nearby Place de la Monnaie and enjoy a sachet of frites with mayonnaise from the foodtruck if you're feeling peckish, and slip back again. Near...
