Place has many different characters. It can be nearly empty in the morning, crowded during the day and more picturesque under lights. Cold architecture gives special frame and garden is the heart between staircases. It is better to go down to the city.

One of the nicest thins about this place is the great panoramic view of brussels and especially the city center.

This is a nice rather large old building right around the corner from the palace. It's big and it's stone columns make it look very interesting. The place offers nice views. Overall I found it worth the stop.

Instead of following the herd (Baaaa !) to see the Grand Place and the Manneken Pis, I suggest you start your experience of Brussels here. Beautiful architecture, outstanding museums (I have reviewed a couple on here if you are interested) and by far the best views across Brussels (I was there last weekend in the rain/snow, and it's still fantastic... Named a little pretentiously, this hill does have a great view to the Grand Place and the centre of Brussels. Around you are two museums, a church & a very good tourist information place.

We went there in the winter. So, it was not so colorful, but still very pretty. The best part: there are located some nice museums. Please, take some time and go there to have some fun :)

I like the Mont des Arts area. It is an historic neighbourhoud with lot's of beautiful buildings, close to the city center. I would, if I was a tourist, definitely include this in a walk trough brussels

Went there late December. It was cloudy, dull and deadly, no flowers, no leaves on trees. Wish we went there in a different time

Actually the pic featured now (jan 17) is not that of the Mont des Arts or Kunstberg (Art Mountain) in Flemish but of the square on top. Why do I find a flight of stairs so fascinating? Because of the sublime panoramic view, it is a nice and free meeting point, but also because I know that under the stairs... More
