Just a 10 minute walk up the hill from the central Grand Place and you have all the major art galleries in one place, Musical Instrument museum (pay extra 2 euros for the audio guide, well worth it) Magritte gallery, Bozar, Royal Museum of Fine...More
Climbing the Mont des Arts, after the Gare Centrale, you can see the huge clock which strikes the hours with lovely chimes. In the distance you see the Place Royale and the St Jacques sur Coudenberg church, with a view over the city behind you....More
Very disappointing and really not worth seeing....you climb up steps to the gardens which are very formal flower plantings and not very big ....they had drone competition over the flower beds when we were there and we cant figure out why they would choose this...More
This area serves as a fine scenic area in Brussels and has a proud monument in front. It is a way away from the Grand Palace but is manageable by bus and a very long walk. There will be many people there for the views...More
On our trip to Brussels, we saw lots of great sights, most of which we knew by name. But this was unexpected, so we took a few pictures. It is in or near the Marolles/Marollen district between Kapellekerk and Carillon du Mont des Arts (if that helps). Thanks for any ideas/help...More

Aloft or Sheraton for access to the SQUARE convention center (2 Replies)
Hi, trying to decide between the Sheraton and the Aloft. Would like easiest access to the SQUARE convention center on rue Mont des Arts . Is one better located via subway. I've stayed at the Sheraton before but Aloft looks preferable if location and access is ok. Thanks in advance.

Neither is particularly convenient, but I guess Aloft would have a slight edge (especially if you are coming to BRU as the airport bus stops at Schuman). From Aloft, you would have to walk from up the hill to Schuman metro station (which is currently being reconstructed) and take the metro to Gare centrale. From the Sheraton at Rogier, you would have to take the pre-metro 1 stop to De Brouckère, change using the walkway between the tram and metro parts of that station, and then take the metro...More

Mont des Arts carillon clock not working? (1 Replies)
Hi, We did a walk around Brussels today and our guide book told us that the figures move on the hour, at the carillon clock on Mont des Arts. We waited but the hour came and went and the figures didn't move. Does anyone know if it is broken? Thanks,
