Located around a 15 minutes drive from Grand Place. It is also located next to the auto Musuem. This is the only Musuem I’ve truly been able to spend two hours in and amazed by true quality of the exhibition.

I had a great visit today and just loved the tapestries, clocks and chronometers not to mention glass and early home displays, but WHERE Are the English descriptions? There are French and Dutch explanations but if they want to entice so many nationalities who speak English they need to up their game! There are a few generalised English translations for some rooms but the individual artefacts are in French and Dutch only. Although there are signs for audioguides there are none available! Most frustrating! The second floor with the Art Deco jewellers shop inspired by Horta is excellent but again NO English to explain.

An interesting place as part of the complex of 3 museums in the park. The entrance is on the side nearest to the road not the same as the Military museum or Auto world. It is effectively divided into two sections. In the Belgium part lots of great tapestries , glass and clocks etc Along with a whole Art Deco shop. The other wing is Roman / Greek and other areas of the world. Lots to look at and not many visitors.

This museum Is impressive in many ways: its size, architecture and difference in collections: archeological artefacts, religious art, art-deco goods gigantic tapestries and glass-work. Impressive pieces. However I can’t help but feeling that this museum has much more potential. Many rooms are unused, the Museum Is outdated and in need of restoration also it’s lay out is confusing and not too logical.
