We went for a visit of the “Autoworld” mseum which is a private museum that rents its buildings from the community. Its passionate and experienced staff are committed to making Autoworld a leading location in both the automobile and events sector, that draws its legitimacy from its rich history. Autoworld was built on the extensive and well preserved car collection of the Mahy family, one of the largest in the world. Founder Ghislain Mahy (1907-1999) who was a passionate mechanic from a young age and went on to restore dozens of cars throughout his life. Together with his sons Hans and Ivan, he built a collection of about 1000 vehicles, amongst which you can find many Belgian brands such as Minerva, Germain, FN, Imperia, Fondu, Vivinus, Nagant, Belga-Rise and Miesse. When the Autoworld museum was established in 1986, it incorporated 200 automobiles from the Mahy collection. WE can more than warmly recommend a visit of this museum, and across this museum you have the “Military Museum”, so you visit both in a few steps.

I was very impressed with this collection. It’s main focus is cars manufactured in Belgium of which, as a life long petrol head, I am ashamed to say, I had been unaware.
It is set in an airy well lit exhibition hall. Each exhibit is written up in Flemish, French and English. We spent three hours there and really enjoyed the restaurant at the end.

Autoworld, a museum dedicated to motor vehicles, is also open on Monday, which is less common for many museums. The Autoworld Museum tells visitors the story of cars, but also of motorcycles, as well as their evolution. It is arranged in one of the wings of the complex in the Parc du Cinquantenaire.
The museum was created on the basis of the outstanding collection held by the Mahy family. Among the models donated to the museum there are many cars of Belgian companies that I have not even heard of: Minerva, Germain, FN, Imperia, Fondu, Vivinus, Nagant, Belga-Rise, Miesse.
In the museum I had only one problem: I did not know what not to photograph. As a result, I photographed until the battery of the camera left me off ... then I switched to the smartphone.
The people at the museum had a special idea, that of linking certain types of cars to the life of rock stars and created a collection: "Cars and Rock 'N Roll". That's how I learned very interesting things about Ringo Starr, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Elton John, Madonna, Marc Bolan, Robert Plant and the cars they drove successfully, or with less success, during their lifetime.
The museum's collection is quite remarkable and who likes such "toys" should visit the museum.

tons of gorgeous cars, old and new. they could have done a much better job with the audio tour, it was disjointed and there was too much info all over the place. the app didn't match the physical signs so it was confusing. great info but I would have liked to have it in written format too. we enjoyed our visit! also nice because it's open on Mondays and most other museums are closed.

I really enjoyed this museum. I liked how open and spacious it was, the variety of cars, the feeling of history and how it changes before your eyes. Luxurious cars all over, and just how much of a journey it all is. Really happy.

It was a rainy Monday so we decided to visit this museum. It was a great way to spend about 90 minutes. When we visited there were a number of Ferrari's on display in celebration of their 75th anniversary. Even without these there's a great collection of cars and motorcycles on display.
It wasn't very busy when we were here. It's a great change from the art and history museums we usually see when we're in Europe. There's a small restaurant/coffee shop on site.
