The touch is supposed to give you good luck. It's located in one of the passageways from the Grote Markt so you don't need to make a special trip. He's easily located by seeing the people gathered around!

Not worth special trip on its own, but if going to the grand-place its easy to have a look. Apparently touching the arm is either good luck, or means you will return to Brussels. Note though that this is a replica, because the original is being restored from being rubbed too much by tourists!

Don't forget to touch or rub the statue of Everard t'Serclaes arms as it is believed to bring luck, grant wishes and ensure one's return to Brussels.

Many tourists rub the statue, particularly the arm, because it is supposed to ensure one's return to Brussels. There is lot of shopping in this area. Do not forget to buy chocolates... More

You can find it in the Grand place. It explains you a bit of the artist and the inauguration. If you join a tour they will explain you the full story... 📜

Apparently if you rub your hands over the statue, it will bring you luck. So I did just that to harness my luck, hehe. It is very close to Grand Place, you can't miss it.

Just another little bronze statue in the surrounding of Grand Place. If you pass by it, rub its arm and shot a photo. Done.

This statue of a medieval alderman has an interesting backstory. The statue was placed in the corner of the Grand Place in memory of Everard, a Belgian hero who defended the city of Brussels against the forces of the Count of Flanders in the 14th century. Touching the arm of the statue is supposed to bring you luck and assure... More
