About
The Beer Museum of the "Belgian Brewers" The rich tradition of Belgian beer is kept alive at the Brewery Museum. Visitors are shown implements, brewing and fermentation tubs, a boiling kettle and the material found in an eighteenth-century brewery. In the cosy cafe, memories of days gone by are brought back to life. Old tankards, antique porcelain and the paraphernalia from an inn of the past illustrate what doubtless deserves to be called "Belgian Beer Culture". Over the years, the Belgian brewers have kept pace with technology, centuries of brewing experience, investing in the necessary know-how and better techniques, as well as respect for both beer and nature are the pillars of the Belgian brewing industry. Tradition with an eye to the future: Visitors to the Brewery Museum will see that this is indeed the case inside this hub of the latest brewing technology. The Belgian brewers will gladly offer you a glass of delicious beer in the cafe of the Brewery Museum.

Worth a Stop !! We were strolling in Grand Place trying to avoid the rain and
made a quick stop here. a friendly man greeted us and for 5 euro you get to visit our small museum, watch a short film - and best of all sample a beer.
It was a fun and worthwhile brief visit - and fun .... should be rated higher

Nice museum dedicated to the history of Belgian beer. Included in the price are 2 tastings and a beer at the end of the tour on the panoramic terrace. The museum is located in the former stock exchange palace easy to reach.
Beautiful museum for beer lovers dedicated to the hostory of the Belgian beers. 2 taste at 2 floor and at the end of the tour at the top of floor.

Visited here and took the self guided tour with 3 tasting beers for €18. In terms of value for money it was very good considering the tour alone was €12. I would however say as a self guided tour with an iPad and headphones, it is very individual meaning there is not much opportunity for communication between yourself and those your visiting with. There was a choice of many tasting beers and the opportunity to order and pay for additional. The other big disappointment was the toilet facilities, there was only 2 toilets, one male and one female. They were also not well kept with wet floors and tissue thrown around. Very disappointing considering there are so many visitors

As a recent review stated - we ducked in here to avoid the rain. The gentleman who checked us in said it is a small museum with a short film - but best of all a beer was included !!! Perfect !!
For 5 euro - great stop in Grand Place .... not sure why the other reviewers rated so low ... worth a quick stop !!

I wouldn't call this a museum. It's more like a place where you go and watch an old short documentary about beer and then you get a tasting. Hubby and I stopped by on a Friday at around 2:30. It's included with the Brussels Card but otherwise, it's €5 for entry. I would recommend only going if you have the card. Otherwise, you could just go to any bar and get a beer you would actually want (since they just have dark and blonde here), for cheaper.

5 Euros to get in to see a long, informative but ultimately unentertaining film about how the beers are brewed. No exhibits to see, then you get a sample drink of a non-branded beer poured for you and shoved across the bar with a grunted "Voila". When we were there the barman spent the entire time placing bets with his bookie on the phone.
Better spend your 5 Euro in one of the many bars in the Grand Place sampling the many fine ales that they sell, and give this place a wide bodyswerve.

Tell all of your friends that this is nothing more than a tourist trap. Located in the basement of one of the fine buildings in the Grande Place -- for 5 euros you get a brochure, a "free" blonde or dark beer of unknown origin, and two rooms with very little in them. One of the room prominently features a video screen on which is playing a video of some official government beer festival that was held in La Grande Place -- and the video looks like a drunken sailor filmed it on his cheap camera phone.

The dictionary literally defines museum as noun
a building in which objects of historical, scientific, artistic, or cultural interest are stored and exhibited.
To call this dungeon a museum is an absolute insult to the word.
You go down a winding staircase to a freezing cold basement and pay your money to an angry old man with no English, and he points you into the 'museum'.
The so called museum is a small room with cheap chairs and a TV screen. A ten minute video plays that is really just a load of star wipes and colourful text. Considering Belgium is the capital of beer, and this museum is in grand place, it has the potential to be a serious money marker. People who visit Belgium would be genuinely interested in learning about the history of Belgian beer and the Trappist history, but you learn none of that here. There are no artefacts or items on display, no history, no exhibition.
At the very end, you do get a 33cl beer included in the ticket price. Considering this is a beer 'museum', you would expect to be given an option of traditional or unique Belgian beers at the end, but instead there is one tap, there is no choice whatsoever, and furthermore, you are not even told what beer you are drinking.
I have no idea what beer that was but it was awful.

Awful. Nothing to see. Bad beer that puts Belgium to shame. Tourist board should ban it. A waste even at €5 and sexist fools run it. On the plus side the beer in bars, much better :)

It’s not a museum, it’s a room.
Just like all the other reviews say, it’s a room with a tv screen and some redundant beer making equipment and a chart on the wall.
You pay 5€ and get a beer and a book!
Ironically, the bar area is quite nice. Personally the owners should just re-market it as a bar/pub and turn the ‘museum’ room into another drinking area and they’d actually make more money.
Maybe it has to be a ‘museum’ to be allowed to sell beer??
The beer is a choice of a blonde beer or a white beer... it was a nice beer to be fair, but was it worth 5€? I think not.
It’s so embarrassing that it’s painfully funny 😂
If you want a small beer for 5€ in a room of awkward people trying to enjoy their over priced beer - then this is THE perfect place for you!
I’m still laughing at this experience.
