There are so many choices in Brugge. Mostly commercial shops. Mary is a gem in the rough. The pure deep flavor is incredible, creamy and delicious. There are hundreds of varieties and as mentioned in other comments, samples are provided without question. There are also many types of boxes for travelers. My box made it back to US in perfect... So if you are a chocolate lover you MUST visit chocolatier's in Belgium. I am suggesting Mary because it is not popular elsewhere, whereas other brands can be found more easily abroad. Ok, be prepared to pay for the chocolates... but you get what you are paying for... the finest chocolates!

1000% have never had better chocolate. They make the chocolate for the royal family! The woman working was incredible. Gave us quite a few samples before we bought anything and was very friendly. It's obviously more pricey than others but so worth it if you ask me! We were recommended to come here and almost didn't make time to stop.

So far, this is the best artisanal chocolate I have tasted in Belgium. I love their dark chocolate varieties! So good. The chocolate is made from scratch for years and years. The service is very welcoming and they are situated in the heart of Brussels, on the way to the Mannekin Pis from the Grand Place. This is the real... More

There are lots of chocolatiers in Belgian. Mary’s is the chocolatier to the Belgian crown. Excellent place to pick up some gifts for friends in family. You can pick what you want by weight or there are some really nice pre-packaged boxes of chocolates. Picked up a box of chocolate domes with marshmallow and chocolate. They were excellent.

This is amazing chocolate, once you have eaten Mary Chocolate, it is very difficult to return to whatever chocolate you were eating before. So many different kinds very difficult choices, we returned twice and had the clerks select mixed selections for us. You will not be disappointed.

Ducked in here one rainy night because I recalled a friend recommended this chocolate purveyor. I'm no connoisseur when it comes to chocolate, but the staff patiently helped me choose some not-so-sweet items, which I enjoyed immensely. After the first bite, I could hardly believe that the stuff I grew up eating could be called chocolate, compared to this unbelievable... More
