Seeing from outside is still worth it

You cannot come inside this private house, but it is a unique piece of architecture that is well worth admiring from the outside.

This is an outstanding house. Its architecture puts it apart even in Brussels where one can see many interesting residences. And this is pretty contemporary so also stands apart from the usual must see in Belgium

It's a private mansion and it's a pity that it cannot be visited, but still a must see! The exterior is just so unique

Architecture lovers will adore the exterior. There's more than enough to see to keep you peeping through the gates and admiring the details in bronze and stone, the sculptures and the ornaments.

It is a private house so it is not possible to come in. It should not be a world heritage site if one cannot visit it!!!

The Stoclet family is a very wealthy one. They have supported art activities for generations. The most visible testimony of their action is this very special house. For sure it deserves attention.

Just from the outside you notice this is a "special" building. The Stoclet house was built by the Austrian architect Hoffmann and interior decoration + furniture was completely made by the famous "Wiener Werkstätte". To get a feel of the interior visit Wikipedia, and if you happen to be in Vienna, visit the "Backhausen" shop in the Vienna city center.... More

The Palais Stoclet is an extraordinary early 20th century luxury home on the Avenue de Tervueren. A modernist house, it is something of an architectural link between the eras of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Still in private ownership and not open to the public, but the exterior is worth a look. Nearest Metro station: Montgomery (then short walk).
