The farm is a lasting legacy of the horrors of war. It serves as a poignant reminder of the struggle that the soldiers on both sides had to endure. The cinema light show in the original barn is very cleverly designed and has to be...More

Hougemont is situated approx 1.5kms from The Lions Mound. You can either walk there (good path) or once an hour there is a free horse drawn carriage to give visitors a lift. The actual building is again not really suitable for the mobility impaired as...More

The Chateau is a very moving site, thinking of the hundreds of men that died there. It doesn't need much in the way of exhibits - the site itself is almost enough. As for the film! - well, if you like moving stages yopu'll enjoy...More

Basic and interesting, however a somewhat boring movie at the Centre. I feel they could have done more with it. Also the set times for the film feels like crowd control. Interesting that a watch company sponsored an exhibition about themselves. Funny though! Nice walk....More

This was the site of an important "battle within the battle". We accidentally walked in the backgate. It was a pretty basic site with a destroyed chapel. There did not seem to be a lot of other things available at the site.

I went in November 2018, shortly before 11 November. I toured the place alone, and I was the only one in the Barn to watch the film there. I am a very amateur military historian so I did know the terrible story of the battle...More

When visiting the Waterloo battlefield, this is an essential part of the battle to see. It is a kilometer walk to get there, but lovely walking through the fields and trees soaking up the atmosphere. On weekends they have shuttles running. It was wonderful to...More
